That's a WEIR.. not a DAM.. Dam's don't allow water to flow OVER them.. smh

Eh wrong most dams have something called a emergency spillway which is essentially just another dam but lets water flow over it when the water gets too high and the normal spillways just aren’t enough to lower the water fast enough without causing severe damage to the dam and the surrounding area

@@tabathashaffer16 An 'emergency spillway' or an 'auxillary spillway' is structurally an Ogee Weir... Dam's are distinctly engineered to impound water ONLY and never allow water over their crest.

@@caleblambo162 Studied water engineering here and in construction terminology the object in film is a spillway with curved edge. You can also call it weir, but this one is more specific. But to correct you, you can distinct dams into 2 main types types: temporary dams and static dams, there are also other subtypes, but that's irewelant in my point. The first type sometimes is so small, that it allows water to go above the crown of dam, because this dam doesn't have wings-part. So some dams can be also at the same type weirs. Atleast this is the type of distinction we make in europe engineering. But true enough, that's definitely not a cushion like an author of film calls it xd

@uncledibby you're projecting there a little bit, bud. Maybe you should look deeper inside yourself, and you'll soon realize that the republican party and the Cultists' MAGA groups have been doing just what you "proclaim" the democrats of doing. There are, of course, a bit of outliers in the democratic party but it isn't as a whole as it is with the republican party and its Maga group. Maybe you would realize that if you did your research and stayed away from biased propaganda sites like Fox News and the like. Instead, go to unbiased news sites with creditable sources and then look into those sources. Who am I kidding? You're probably too ignorant to do that.

This is essentially the water equivalent of an airfoil (a hydrofoil) that helps demonstrate the coanda effect. Fluids tend to stick to curved surfaces. Same way you can redirect falling water by letting it flow along the bottom of your finger. In physics water and air both behave like fluids.

Most dams nowadays are used to produce energy via the current of the water flowing through the intakes and outakes of the dam. Not only collecting and redirecting water to free up land or supply water for communities, but the faster current produces more energy naturally faster water= more free, carbon less energy (other than the carbon produced by the dam when it's being built) This is my take on it

In Spain we do the same on the rambla on the bottom of our garden. We do it to slow the water flow as well as catching water for the tall eucalyptus trees. Otherwise the water will just flow off the rambla into the road. (Bear in mind that we only get rain once every 180 days ISH) And it pours down rather than trickle
Real tired of the affectation with the voice and music on all of these.

That's how rejuvenation stage happens for rivers.
Bro ran out of words while writing his essay 😭
That some damn useful dam information
Damn
When you have a 1000 word minimum essay:
I don't care about the dam part but that's just cool how water does that. Covers it and then uncovers it. Wild.
This narration is equivalent to a wet fish handshake.
Everyone here roasting the AI, it will be like all the movies.
He got masters degree in yapping 😭
When you need 5000 words on your essay but your at 4550
In a science class I learned that water follows solute
Take a shot every time he says dam
I just had an imagination of a city that was once on land but swallowed up by the ocean and sand coverved them all whole. I wonder if the ocean's vanished momentarily and we were able to go around the seafloor and discover the undiscovered, what we would find.
Man said this is important nine times
Shows why they'll pull out the plug for non-electric dams perodically so they can clean out the mud and debris behind the dam.
Videos of city’s under water starts to make sense with this video
Hmm this gonna be my science fair project
That was a damn good demonstration

Water will always adapt, Bruce Lee said it best
Note to self, dams are really bad for the stability of the ground around it
I see Chills has improved his narration voice.
Causing someone to lose this many IQ points is criminal.
"A sleeping snorlax is blocking your path..."
everybody became chills ong
Now I get it, why Bruce Lee said be water my friend
This man managed to talk so much without actually explaining ANYTHING
That voice ... it's like listening to a know it all Gen Z
Man said its important because it's essential for the dam. Like three times with no explanation
This video is me trying to make an essay about something i didn't research
That's was great info. thanks for who ever did this. I learned something very cool today.
Dam that’s cool 😂
this is a real person, i know the difference between ai and human structures, it is always very clear
"Number 15. A water dam."
i feel like the end was just played in reverse
“Number 15, Burger King foot lettuce. The last thing you want in your Burger King burger is somebody’s foot fungus… but that might be exactly what you get”
Also, the lack of sediment flowing to the ocean has shown an increase of loss of beaches not being replaced by the natural lake/river sediment replace system.
Bro knows how to use his full sentences 💀💀
Instructions unclear, ate Burger King Foot Lettuce.
This dude did not just talk about dams. That's goddam crazy
the temperature and salinity gradients across the rivers also change pretty drastically
dam... His explanation is so fluid.
Like Bruce Lee says, “Be Water, My Friend. Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water. You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."
is this chills bro 😭
That aint a cushion.. thats a DAM taco!
This is good to show to flat earthers.
A weir is a dam. Weirs were often used to create reservoirs (lakes/ponds) next to the stream/river that then drained through a narrow passage onto a water wheel for power, or to put fish in.
The burger king foot lettuce guy got a better mic I see
This is caused by the Coanda Effect which is the tendency of a fluid jet to stick to convex surfaces. P.S I didn’t search the definition up on google I actually did a research project on this subject
Number 15: Burger King Foot Lettuce
This is why the netherlands are very powerfull
This is why dams have water flow under them
Just a bit of fluid dynamics lesson in play. I can't imagine how an entire college course would be. Interesting part of physics.
Thats how all those massive rocks in the creek got there.
the valley guy accent is killing me
Most Dams provides almost endless eclectic power to millions and millions of people solar, and wind can't even come close.
They tore the dam out behind my house along with several others up river. It completely messed up the ecosystem. They said it made the water safer for kayaking. Mind you this river didn't get more than 4 feet at its deepest. Now it's 1 and a half to 2 and the animal population has decreased drastically.
This is called a low-head dam. They are extremely dangerous and were built in many small rivers and creeks throughout North America when we were more worried about a bear eating you than drowning in a river.
I love stuff like this
I feel bad for an English teacher that had to go through you
