I saw many honor guard shifts. Look at the soldiers trained tremendously. They are the best honor guards in the world. I want to say that they are the best of the best in the honor guard worldwide. I was impressed by the Taiwanese soldier.

@Timothy Gray In spite of your earlier snide comment, I'm going to be civil to you...at least, for now. I've always considered the Army's drill team to be superior (my personal prejudice from being in the Army, I suppose), but here's news: the Air Force has beaten all other branches. kzread.info/dash/bejne/m3hpycyblNi2kZM.html

Then for generations soldiers find themselves doing strange choreographies... What’s the historical basis for this style of foot drill? I’ve noticed that many US-aligned Asian and SE Asian countries have really weird-looking slow marches and double time marches.

Taiwan's military training is deeply rooted in prussian doctrine. Nazi Germany and the Wehrmacht sent officers and trainers to train the Kuomintang Army to fight the Japanese Empire prior to WW2. It eventually stuck even after the US supported Taiwan after WW2 with their own training and equipment.

These guys are really good. Then again though, honor guards are always the gold standard. In my opinion, the Tomb Guards in the US are still the best. It's absolutely pristine in every way, they do it in every weather and situation, they won't show pain to any degree and are avowed to uphold the standard for the rest of their life. Their movements are simple but robotic. Just my two cents. I think these guys use way too much movement, but they're pristine nonetheless.

@@malcolmleighton2609 A mix of Nazi Germany and US. Mostly Prussian since Nazi Germany trained Taiwan's KMT army divisions for almost 6 years and the Weimar Republic 4 years before that.

@@theislerider9513 Was fuer ein total verbloedeter Kommentar (!) Trotzdem, Schoenes Wochenende.
