Changing GFO & Carbon | Reef Tank

Ойын-сауық

This video is a step by step guide to changing BRS GFO and ROX 0.8 Carbon. Im currently using the BRS Dual Reactor that is plumbed into the main manifold. I use 1 cup of GFO and 1 cup of Carbon. I use half dose of gfo because the full dose does not tumble well in the reactor, I have also noticed the tank has a drastic drop in PO4 that could potentially cause a negative effect corals, I believe in slow changes in any water parameter. The Half dose of gfo works great for my situation.

Great vid bro. Was searching for a vid of the BRS dual reactor and this came up. Answered all my questions - exactly what I was looking for. Gonna ditch my Phosban550's and pick up one of these. Also noticed the Army ink. Thanks for your service man.

I used chemipure elite in mine and I think it made the phosphates drop to quick. What happens when phosphates drop too quickly

do you still run the dual reactor for GFO & Carbon? or do u prefer single reactors ? I have seen ppl say they require different flow rates. your thoughts, thanks in advance.

I still run the dual reactor bc it holds the amount of media i need. As for flow you only need to focus on keeping a good tumble on the GFO your carbon will be fine.

where can i find the same adapter you are using for your gfo and carbon reactor. the one that connects the 1/2" mur lok tube that came with the reactor to your pvc pipe. im trying to do the same as yours but cant find a way to connect them.

Homedepot is the best place to start. if not BRS has stuff like that in stock.

yes it's the push and connect. they came with the dual brs reactor. I fixed it but I had to push them in with a lot of effort.

Nice video. How do u get your bio pallets to tumble like that? What kind of pump are u using?

+TheMiguel0205 When i made this video i had it hooked up to the tanks manifold. If you check out the newest video i have upgraded the biopellet reactor to the phosban 550 and had to connect it to a utility pump until i upgrade my main pump to the dc15000

+Primo Reef as long as you don't overdose you will be fine. Not sure who told you that but it's incorrect. One removes nitrates the other phosphates they do two different things. The only negative thing about either is getting your nutrients too low and causing some corals to have color fading.

Are you using the push connect 1/2 inch tube? I know that the dual reactor requires that type as default. The best place to get it would be Bulk Reef Supply I Know when i need to get more and or replace any parts for the reactor thats my first stop.
