When the belt is replaced from front to rear, replacing the belt is a relatively simple task that can be done with everyday tools.

You don’t have to pull anything off the rear end. I just drove my 1542 onto ramps and took the 5/8 bolt out of the crank and the PTO pulley and drive pulley slide right off. 15 minutes later I was mowing again.

Watching your video I noticed at 6:02 you show both lengths of the belt that runs to the rear inside the rod guide. Only the left side belt should be in that guide. The right side is a straight shot from the idler pulley to the Hydro-static Drive.

To change the drive belt i simply just put on the new drive belt nothing needed to be disconnected. It took five minutes.

I have the exact same mower and the belt just went on simply without removing anything.I’m glad I didn’t follow the directions on your video. No offense just saying it went on simply. Without removing anything at all.

I have this same model too, but there are different models. I have yth1542xp-A there's A,B,C,D. You don't have to take off the back. You do have to disconnect the electric pto connection and at least take out that pin like he did to het the belt over the clutch and the pully at the top. On mine there's a totally different pin to keep the pto from spinning that can't be taken out like his, so you have to remove the clutch to change the belt. It's a yth1542xp just like this, so different models of it are going to be different. He got the job done, and that's all that matters.
