Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I've learned long ago that you can post a video about how beneficial the sun is and get comments on how dangerous it is. 😎 Negative comments and personal attacks reflect on the commenter, not the post creator.

I have a 2012, v6 4wd model with 39,000 miles on it.. The rear pads have worn out first, before the fronts on my car also... I can hear the sensor rubbing the rotor, and bought the pads to replace them today.. I logically assumed it was the front pads that had worn, but it wasn't untill I stuck my head out the window that I realized they were in fact the rear pads making noise.. I assume its because the rear pads are tiny compared to the fronts.. Front rotors warping is also a common issue with these cars..

So when does he actually talk about the pads?

I've had my Crosstour for eight years. The rear pads have always worn 50% faster then the fronts! Fyi.

I had a metric socket set, but not Metric combination wrenches.

Honda basically used the Ridgeline brakes on the Crosstour with its dual caliper piston system. Since there was a ton of meat left on the front pads, why did you change them? You could just put them back on if you are not changing rotors. I have the same car, 2010 Crosstour, and I put slotted and cross drilled rotors on the front to get more braking power. My pads had little wear as well, but I put new ones on since I changed the rotors. Also, if the rear pads wore out faster, it is probably because they are cheaper pads. The front brakes on cars do most of the stopping.

Kevin York thanks for the info, I change them anyway because I didn't want to get back into them a short time later. Better a fresh start.

Nice video, but you should have shown the work for others that haven't replaced break pads. Not being critical, but I am do dizzy from the camera movement.

thanks for the video but the bolts are not SAE, the hardware is metric. The carrier bolts are 17mil, the slider bolts are 13mil.

My carrier bolts were 19 mm, and super tight. I had to take the top half of my floor jack handle off to use it as leverage over a breaker bar, and it was still hard to get those bolts off.

Yes, i know the bolts are metric people. I was giving the SAE sizes that would work for those who don't have Metric tools.

Other than the fact that this guy had his car for 5 years and was replacing the pads, did he mention he had the car 5 years? There was NO useful information provided in this video. Nada, Zip, Zilch !! Don't quit your day job.

I think the MOST useful information was to show that the average person does not have to be afraid to do a brake job on their newer Honda. Most people would have just taken their car to the dealer or another shop and get ripped off money wise for a relatively easy job.
