@@wolfeman1966 Thanks. I actually just used my calipers to gently unscrew the back and held the watch in my palm. Then, used a precision flat head screw driver to pry off the retainer holding the battery. There's actually a part on the side that is clipped over plastic. You won't have to bend that top piece up because it being released from the side allows it to raise without tearing it up. :)

I read an article about watches called '10 things you did it wrong with your watch' and one of these 10 things was that you always should replace your battery at an specialized workshop or by waranty because may occur mist if you try to change by yourself. And the article said that if the workshop is pro they would vacume the air from the watch after replacing the battery and than they would seald it. This is the reason why I asked you :) (sorry for my english if I have some mistakes ) :)))

Hi there! Firstly , I am not a watch expert. I got a new watch as a gift and it had not battery on it, the battery was in the box and I tried putting it on my own. I somehow opened the wTch but, when I put in the battery , there was this small thing near the battery hole, I think it is called a spring. The one that touches the battery terminals. That part broke and I don't know what to do. This part is really small and is there was way to fix it back to the watch? Thank you!

At this moment one quick repair not the best but... Silver foil folded small enough to match the same size as the old piece . Make sure it touches the battery and the old metal piece on the side/ edge. 🤔

The tool is cheap enough on amazon and will prevent you from accidentally scratching the back cover with the long nose pliers. You don't want to do that with more expensive watches. But even if just a fossil watch, a scratch is still a scratch.

Bien Balajadia agreed But this was 5/6 years ago and although I had the tools to do the job..... I was showing those who hadn’t what they could use to do the job. If you love your watch you should always take care .👍🏽😊 But thanks for your comment.

I found an old (beautiful) Fossil Blue BQ-9016, but the battery was removed! Any idea what battery it might take? The space for it seems roughly 6.5mm across.. so perhaps a 5.8mm cell: 317 , 379 , 319?

To tell you the truth most watch batteries are 1.5 v Any way and if you haven’t got the old battery then take it to your local Walgreens, CVS, Lowe’s or batteries plus shops/stores and measure up... or ask someone there to assist you. Hope that helps

Thanks a lot for this very helpful video! I have a question. The front of Fossil fs-4631 has a few parts that represent the hours and the stopwatch hands have come off. How can they be put back? I opened the back cover, removed the crown, but the blue metal board to which the parts showing the watches are attached looks wider than the sidewall of the watch, I couldn't remove it. Does the glass in front of the watch have to come off for this? In short, what is the way to do this?

@@yildizalliok so if you pull out the crown you will see another piece that is attached to the thread and crown. Get some thin bull nose plier onto that piece and another set onto the crown and turn. Turn the crown left and the other piece right. That takes the crown off to allow you to then lift the face out.👍🏽👍🏽
