One pedal and the coasting mode are both so nicely tuned on the Lightning. I prefer both! Depends on the situation.

These are great tips! Dark mode was hidden in there and I never thought about the hotspot! Shocked they have it defaulted to on. I’ll have to check my pro trim, might not even have it. Love your content, I’m just learning the ropes!

As someone with almost 25 years in IT, hiding the SSID hotspot is like using a school locker. Sure, it stops or slows the average person but does nothing to stop a hacker. Apps are available to find hidden SSID's. This is why they have it on. You do not need to hide your SSID. The tip should be using a long combination of letters, numbers and symbols.

Awesome video, keep them coming! When you switched off the lane keeping assist, does that effect the Blue Cruise? or will it switch it back on?

Just a heads up that hiding your Wi-Fi SSID doesn’t do anything for security. It just makes it invisible to average users, but anyone actively looking for hidden networks can still easily uncover it.

It actually makes you LESS secure. Once you connect a device to a hidden SSID, if that device isn’t connected to that SSID, it will periodically send out beacons with the SSID information in it looking to connect. Data mining, hackers, etc can use this to track your device, or even impersonate the SSID and have you connect to it, and steal data.

Hey Sean! Thanks! Really appreciate you watching! I went from 2017 Lariat to 2022 XLT. Definitely missing some nice touches of that Lariat. XLT Lightning tech is no slouch tho considering the price. I’m working on what’s included in XLT vs what’s missing video. Hopefully I finish that video before your order. I’ll keep making variety of topics of this truck.

@@EVTruckLOG supposedly the order bank opens up august 10th. Not sure how invites will work again. I’m torn..love the lariat and all the features, but I got to demo the pro and I came away super impressed and am having a change of heart about needing a higher trim. The pro is so compelling for the price. Has many of the features my lariat has. I may go that route if offered..it will be my suburb daily. The pro ran out first wave this year so more than likely an xlt. Looking forward to any videos you can make about the truck as an owner besides all the standard review ones.

Someone probably already beat me to this...but I enjoyed the Expanse reference!

Got it , now i have to buy one lol!, I still need to convence my wife about it , since i got me a 2021 F-150 XLT last year, love it first truck fir me, although Ford lighting will be my dream come true forget about Tesla, can’t win 100 years of engineering.

"Rocinate" is nice, but mine might be "Firefly". Don't have a solid date on my reservation yet, but hoping to get the order link for my XLT in the next month or so.

I am late to the party :) But, still, all valid points! Good suggestions and easy to follow directions.

Great help SEV. Hey I am having issues with connectivity with wireless Android auto. It's intermittent and I don't see a regular symptom of why it's not connecting regularly. I think it has something to do with my home WIFI because correct me if I am wrong but it looks as though ANDROID AUTO connects by WIFI rather than Bluetooth?

Hi! Is there climate control part in the infotainment of the f150 lightning? I test drove and XLT lightning yesterday and I couldn’t find it. Thanks.

You still get regenerative braking when you don’t have one pedal driving on. The brake pedal is a blended brake pedal and pressing on the brakes will use regen to slow the car and put energy back into the battery.

thank you! I was scrolling for this comment. there's no way the op really thinks you need one-pedal driving for regen does he? it literally shows a battery charging animation when you hit the brake pedal..

I am having issues deciding between this screen size on the XLT or the 15 inch screen on the Lariat. Do you have any opinions on the screen size? did you look at the 15 inch screen any? Keep up the great videos, appreciate all of the Lightning insights.

Thanks William! I would love the Lariat screen. XLT split screen of course is much smaller feeling but comes at much cheaper price point. If you load up the XLT with the extended range battery, I think at that point you would go with the Lariat. I think it all depends on what screen you are coming from. I’m coming from 2017 F150 Lariat screen so the current screen seem plenty enough. Part of it is perspective. Both are very functional. Hope that helps!

Great video! How are the cloth seats in the XLT? Are they pretty comfortable? Are they easy to clean? Have you sat in any of the other trims? I am curious as to how they compare. Thanks, in advance, for any help and have a great day.

Hi Kyle, thank you! That’s actually a great question because the cloth seat texture is definitely different than the usual cloth seats. They are more like scratchy Jean material. It’s tough, but if you are wearing shorts it’s itchy on your skin. It does however hides stains well since it’s like Jean colored in some sections. I haven’t tried cleaning yet. I did test drive the Pro trim and vinyl feels like pleather. Very soft and comfortable. Not sticky like cheap pleather. Since it doesn’t have ventilated holes, probably the easiest to clean. Hope that helps.

I am also a Dad so I am hoping the cloth seats hold up to the kid test pretty well. I always have some sort of snack sitting on/in my backseat. Thanks again for all of the great content. @@kegardne123 I always appreciate these comments. Cloth seat is holding up well so far. I had to clean it recently since my kids spread some sunscreen on the seats. I just wiped it with a warm watered cloth and it came off. Crumbs were easy to vacuum up. My biggest issue with these seats are that it soaks up odors. My kids get sweaty and it's replacing the new car smell. I'll have to find a natural car air freshener.

Thanks! I have a video about that coming soon since mine hasn’t been straight forward. I was reading 234 miles at 90% charge. Will need to go on a road trip soon to get some realistic mileage. 😄

@@mikecarter4572 Every day driving my XLT standard range I have so far averaged 2.8 miles per kWh. I charge to 90% routinely and see 230 mile range expected. So much better than the EPA rating. I use one pedal all the time so all the braking energy is recaptured. Not a lot of fast driving but lots of demo rides for friends where I accelerate rapidly.

I’m currently in a Ford lightning freezing my ass off, trying to figure out how to turn the heater on and I cannot

I know it's not on this topic, but anyone found a way to shut off the voice prompts on these? I drive 5 mph stop and go a lot on unpaved roads opening and closing cattle gates and the seat beat reminder voice wont stop. I got rid of the dinger by following the manual, but the voice prompts remains.

how can I get rid of the annoying picture in picture on my screen? I HATE that little screen that covers some of my display.
