Change Ringing on Handbells - Double Helix Major

Музыка

The first lead of Double Helix Major - a notoriously difficult 8 bell method. A peal of Double Helix was rung in hand in Cambridge on 12 November 2011 by the ringers here:
1-2 Jennifer Earis
3-4 Simon Melen

Awesome, a 20+ year challenge conquered; a blue line that's a 3rd of peal, no obvious structure etc. Awesome, and well done!

Nicely done, lady and gentlemen. That is the first time I've heard that change rung and it was done crisply and well.

That was fantastic! I just recently discovered change ringing for church bells. Found your video...looks like fun and a good challenge on the hand bells. I'm thinking that designing a clock that change rings a set of bells once a day would be amazing!

Hi, I have been intrigued by change bell ringing scores for their complexity, lack of repetition and the manner in which something so complex can be played. I have been working on a project which concentrates on the scores and what their application might be in a more contemporary setting - the integrity of the score itself is at the heart of my ideas. It requires really consistent playing and having watched your videos, I find the accuracy of your playing astounding! I am putting together a proposal and if you would be interested in hearing a high level description of what I have planned, I would love to talk to you with a view to collaborating. Either way, I will still mesmerize myself to your videos :)

I can never wok out how people can ring two bells. I flat out ringing one church bell to a method. I saw someone ring 2 in hand to Bristol Major, now that is 4 bells. There must be techniques and tricks

Wow, sounds really complicated. I'd love to see the grid for the method synchronized with the performance running up the video if there were some way to do that.

Hey, this is very nice! But isn't it repeating a pattern? I thought this was all about not repeating the same sequence at all. Would be interested to hear more...

That guy with the black shirt looks like he is playing a very boring Wii game. That, or he's trying to memorize the macarena dance.
