Works great on Latitude E7440! THANKS!!!!!!!!! You just have to pay attention to the keyboard layout. On a German keyboard, Z and Y are swapped. English keyboard layout is set in the BIOS. That was my problem at the beginning.

THANK YOU! Been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out. One thing: Open an Administrative command prompt and run the non x64 version first, then look at the txt file created to see if it actually worked or not. I have 64 bit windows, but the x64 exe this util created did not work. It threw an error in the text log. Non-x64 version worked perfectly.

Worked. Just check box "apply" with empty value to clear ownership tag

I hope this is still active for I have a question. They where throwing out a Dell Latitude E6510 at work. I asked if they would mind if I took it home and tried to make it mine. The bios is strange looking. Nothing but a small white and blue list of options after entering bios. I wanted to make this totally my computer but maybe wiping the drive completely and adding a fresh now SSD and adding Windows. Would this even be possible and would it run. I fear there would be driver issues. am I correct in thinking this?

Is there a way to change this service tag number and express service tag number using this software? When I sent the computer in I'm mismatched the bottom of the case to the laptop and they put the wrong service tag for that laptop. I was wondering if there's a way for me to be able to go in and just change that service tag.

Can i use the exported files for other Dell Laptops or have i to do the hole process for each Laptop?

My only question is.. Awesome Video, I followed all your steps about 2 years ago but, I no longer see the Asset tag also, I haven't been able to download all required drivers, On the Dell website it still shows the last owner, but the main issue is all the restrictions in several areas especially in the group/regedit policy section I thought once this was done all restrictions would be gone. Looking for some good honest advise, I was so happy to find your video again.

pieces of info that helped me after installing Dell Command to your computer look up: - CCTK (Dell Client Configuration Toolkit) on dell's support page for full tutorial how to launch the below stuff -program files (x86)\dell\Command Configure\x86_64 -cctk.exe --PropOwnTag= that helped me clear the tag on a newer Latitude and this way seems universal.

Hi, I just replace the Motherboard in my Dell Inspiron 7706. The issue is that the Battery will Not Charging Beyond 55%'. According to Dell Support Knowledge Base Online, to fix it, I need to add an "Ownership Date" (press Power + F2 to go into BIOS and select Maintenance...) I can't do what was instructed, because This option (select Maintenance in BIOS) exists only in the older Dell models and not in the newer models" like the Dell Inspiron 7706. Can you help me to fix is the problem. Thanks, in advance.

I used your video once before and it worked perfectly. I now have an optiplex 970 and it is not working. I updated the bios from A18 to A22, and ran the dell command configure wizard to change the name. I also reset the motherboard by removing the jumper and battery. I have done this once before and it worked fine but it is not removing the name. Any thoughts?

nvm, found the answer in the comments. Works on Latitude 3310

Have a newer dell optiplex 7090 , all seems to work ok except when reboot , it’s still there under the dell logo :(
