There's nothing wrong with changing skin tones for the purpose of editing on softwares, but there are so many other techniques to do this that look much more blended in and natural.

I knew people wouldn’t like this… but I recently got a graphic design job for packaging of women’s products. And they needed a similar job done. Why? Because they sell products that match women’s skin tone and had one for fair, medium, and dark skin. And instead of doing a new photoshoot they asked me to just recolor her skin (the face was not in the photo, mostly her body and the garment she was wearing) I thought it was quite clever and much faster than having to hire multiple models and scheduling a shoot. So this tutorial would be good for something like that. Or showing makeup on a light / dark woman I suppose if you didn’t want to do the whole photoshoot thing or couldnt find the perfect stock photo to use (with the right pose and angle etc).
