Change | Alex & Lokelani Wilson

| Matthew 12 : 43-45
“When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when it comes, it finds the house empty, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there, and the last state of that person is worse than the first. So also will it be with this evil generation.”

I feel like when I try to escape lust, I try and change everything by myself. Yesterday I played Christian music, cleaned the kitchen for my Parents, watched Christian preaching, Worked out, and none of that helped in the end. I really feel the need to just come to Jesus in prayer, instead of trying to clean up everything by myself.

I’ve done this. And after listening to Jerry flowers series fire fighter, I realized that movement and tasks doesn’t mean you are intimate with him. Prayer and vulnerability with him is a great way to really cut to the root of the issue, we have to trust God to lead us and get out his way

I needed this. Self righteousness is scary. When you’re changing your life for the better (or so you think) a self righteous mindset can sneak up on you. It can deceive you into thinking you’re better and silently judging others without even realizing it, and all along you’ve changed on the outside but yet your heart is still empty.

Same. This is HUGE for me. You can do it without even knowing. Doing a bible study with my mum and there’s this part about being critical coming from love, or critical where it’s not from love and how to tell the difference. And then, through God’s grace, you’ll learn and or become more aware just of how judgmental we are. It’s insane. God is GOOD! Loved this podcast, or video. First time listening and might continue. Just hard listening to couples because … maybe I’m negative but you see so many Christian couples breaking up. So sad

This recently happened to me with a man. He judged me and kept saying he wasn’t but he was. Broke my heart. It was the self righteousness that stuck out. I kept trying to force it but it was only going to destroy me at the end.

Hey everyone we all need to repent to jesus before its too late.. i seen jesus 3 times last year an 4 times this year.. i think i have a calling on my life.. i have a dream every week or two of jesus, My first dream was me seeing the lion of judah through sunlight a week before my bday. And it was an outer body experience so i was able to look through the sunlight, less then a second the lion of judah was in front of me. I felt his presence it was soo peaceful words can't explain the feeling. i can't explain the feeling, jesus the only one who can explain it. the feeling is beyond our imagination.. but he was talking to my mind telling me to spread what i just experienced.

yes I believe so. if I’m being wrong here, please you are free to correct or giving me suggestions. but in what I understand is that simple when you wanted change you need to change. let’s say I would like to lose weight because my knees are getting hurt so the doctor said I should try to exercise, eat more protein less carbs and fat try not be still and active yourself. it means you need to put your energy, attention to what will change for the better of your health. and God is the same he giving us the chance to know him and his grace to free from those bad spirits so we gotta come to him to have a relationship with him so that shows you are willing to step out of the zone you have been captivated by those evils or bad habits that you wanted to change. I am also struggling and trying to get better but for times to times by my own I couldn’t so come back to who can freely give you the authority to change your life. God bless you❤

this has described my life in so many ways. before Christ a lot of times i'd be worse off after fasting, i'd stop lusting & watching porn for a while but then eventually the addiction would come back sometimes way worse than before. i also would think i was going to heaven because i wasn't "that bad" whatever that means. i'd compare myself to murderers & such, judging myself on my own scale instead of God's. i needed not just change of action, but a change of heart. finally God opened my eyes to see my sin, & to see Him. I hated my sin & i no longer wanted to be my own Lord because He showed me how empty it all was. the entire world lost it's appeal suddenly & i was no longer interested going about life the same way i had, it's hard to describe, but i've never been the same. i actually wanted Jesus & not just so He could do something for me. these days when self righteousness starts to creep into my life (and it does at times) this scripture comforts me: “God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs." Matthew 5:3 i am poor, i have nothing to offer Him - not spiritually or physically, and He still died for me

If we are in God’s Word, studying and seeing how they so disregarded Jesus in was that actually makes you stop, pause in utterly disgust. Then you reflect upon yourself and remember when you/I would do the same thing in a different way. It makes you try harder and want to do what you know is right and in accordance with His Word, His Instructions. We are His and He is ours. Hallelujah 🙏🏾

There’s a song that comes to mind, “Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up Lord, come and quench this thirsting of soul, bread of heaven fill me till I want no more; fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.”

Every time I escape lust it just comes back later. This is when I feel like I’m not guilty of any sin. That sense of pride I have because I have cleaned my house is the one that makes me think I am invincible. That’s when I fall and start to think that it’s okay to skip one devotion as long as I’m not sinning. It’s okay watch that video because I won’t react to it , 3 days later I find myself back to my sinful habits that make me suffer.

So so good! After building a deeper relationship with Jesus, I was attacked by so many religious spirits, both physically & just spiritually, it kinda sent me into self-righteousness in trying to prove I belonged to Jesus. This podcast was a beautiful reminder to rest in the finished work of the cross, period & to encourage others to do the same!

Wow.. last night at the young adults I go to during prayer we were asked to pray and tell the Lord to search us of things we need to repent from. When I asked I heard very clearly self righteousness :( I was like dang okay,(bare in mind yesterday was my 1 year mark of sobriety and I was like if I can make it a year I’m good and my parents were like you need to give glory to God cause you did nothing) the part when you guys talked about living a good life being free and not doing anything wrong but then being completely empty on the inside convicted me so hard! I have forgotten about who saved me and how I can even say “I’m one year sober”. Thank you for your words of wisdom, thank you for breaking down this word, and thank you for allowing the Lord to use you guys :)

There’s some really good points in here. For me the one that stood out was that the house was empty and that we need to put Jesus in it. We most definitely need to realize that if we clean out an area in our life we need to invite the Holy Spirit to come live in that space.

This was so powerful. Felt like I was doing all the right things in my life to clean myself up. Christ came to me at the lowest part of my life. I kept hitting rock bottom over and over until i reconnected with Christ. The self-righteous part is parallel to how I've been feeling. I'll never forget to be grateful for the love from God & be humbled. When I seem to be confused in my misdirection. He is greater than I. When I've been down, reading the word of God, praying, & meditating on the word, Christ lifts me back up. Would love the ability to preach the word as gracious as you two do. This is the first video I've seen from this channel & you already know I'm following. Thank you for preaching. Needed this today & am feeling blessed. God bless y'all & much love

This had been really good! Sometimes I tend to feel like this man! Just have to keep praying about things and sticking closer to his word! We got this everybody!

I don’t understand, I’m currently dealing with self righteousness as I’ve had this problem my whole life as I’m now 18, I’ve even rejected alcohol, sex, and I still can’t feel any change in my life, I’m so aware of how empty my soul feels but I think I almost have to screw up my life just to be changed from what I’m hearing because trying to be clean doesn’t work I just wanna give up on this because I don’t know what to do.

Watch the chosen series, sometimes we don’t realise the depth in which Jesus loves us, this along with reading the word will help you. We have to remember that Jesus loved us without us doing anything, he died for us in our most sinful ways. This series really helps you to see his character and how much he loves you. ❤️

Seek Jesus even if there are so many things tempting u or whatever else the more that u seek Him things will be added that kinda surrender of obedience shows that you are going to God's righteousness instead of your own solutions, faith on God over every solution u could ever think of. Those problems aren't you so if u know that truth then don't entertain it even if you did it that's ur sinful nature and that's not u so just repent and turn to God.❤️
