Vintage and/or Pre-loved is the way to go with Chanel. Their quality has deteriorated and the high cost is absurd. I have a Chanel classic flap I bought in 2010 for 4K and now one costs more than 10K. That's ridiculous!!!

I agree vintage Chanel handbags it is a way to have a unique and high quality item . I remember I bought my two Lady Di ( 1992 ) for some 600 € ( each ) some 11 years ago and today this model can go up to 10000 € .

even 4K is ridiculous, the intrinsic value is negligible as we are starting to learn recently.

Before the pandemic/lockdown period, Chanel was totally worth the purchase. I loved the legacy represented by the immaculate craftsmanship and excellent high quality on their bags. I mean, you could sport a grunge-esque style, and the moment you place a classic flap bag over you, all of a sudden, you were Rockstar chic. And, you could actually pass it down to your kids. But now with all these issues involving leather peeling, metal chipping off and rude AF sales associates, poor customer service, and on top of all this, a current retail price of $10,200? No my dear no. So not worth it. Like, dude, that's a down payment for a modest family home in the suburbs. Not just the ridiculously constant price hikes, but Chanel's come to a point that is no longer even worth it to aspire to. I have a Coach bag from 2011 that cost me around $360, all leather; and this bag is alive and well. No leather peeling, no metal chipping/falling off and trust me, I put that top handle thru the ringer, it has gotten bashed, thrown around, dropped, bumped into and it is still intact. So you can understand my shock and dismay that Chanel is selling its clientele an overpriced bag that breaks down quicker than a superfake as I once aspired and almost invested in a Chanel piece and my Coach is still kickin it. If Chanel was a person, I'd say: Girlfriend, you need to get off that high horse and realize you will never beat, let alone BE like Hermes. With the prize hikes & poor quality, you acting like a low-level hooker who's pricing herself as if she were a high ranking escort😂

Coach is the way to go, I don't care for luxury and don't buy into the hype at all, but coach seem to be the fine line of quality for price so I'm happy to wear them.

I have 6 pieces of Chanel. They date from 1992, 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2019. All absolute beautifully made treasures. Not the same today.

To me, it’s not worth the price. I’m not paying thousands of dollars for a name. Especially since the quality has declined. Maybe a vintage Chanel bag, but the bags they’re churning out now? I pass.

I think a lot of brands are absolutely missing this point. If the name no longer represents what it stood for, it's lost it's value

No bag is worth $10k IMO but certainly not Chanel bags. The quality of their bags have gone down hill since the 2010s and there isn’t much creativity to be seen. I also doubt Chanel bags are genuinely hand stitched, and if they are, they have not undergone rigorous testing and review.

I remember that simpsons episode 😆 Great lesson in that episode. She went out her way to fit in a country club. The members of the club eventually shunned her.

Another price increase??? It's insane!!! I prefer to wait a few years for a Hermes bag than buying the current Chanel bags because the prices might keep coming up but the quality remains way down. I'm so happy I bought a vintage Chanel bag at the beginning of the craziness when people just started looking at the vintage market because mine was in an amazing price and excellent condition

Prices should reflect on craftsmanship, if it’s all price increase with no quality improvement it’s all just fluff then. At least with Hermes they stand with craftsmanship.

The reality is, if you're very rich you really aren't concerned about the price - you'll just buy what you want. The problem for Chanel is the majority of their customers are bourgeois (upper-middle class) ...and they're obsessed with the price of everything. If you think it's too expensive then you probably can't afford it - so save your money.

Don’t listen to everything that’s said. I have ten Chanel bags and they are perfect.

I bought by Chanel CF back in 2018 for less than half of what it costs now. Thank goodness. I’d NEVER buy it new today. Def not worth it.

Good afternoon: Chanel bags ain't worth the money. At the end of the day, you're only paying for the Chanel name. The money ppl pay for the bags, they should be in great quality & made to last a long time. Like years..!! Only reason ppl buy the bags is cuz of the logo. If they didn't have that logo no one really think twice about getting the luxury name bag. It's sad cuz that's a luxury bag, it should last awhile. Technically they making Chanel name look horrible. Goes to show ppl, luxury products aren't what they say they are. Well Chanel bags aren't 😔😔...!! Why did they even change the regular way of making the bag. … most videos on KZread are narrated by AI voices … a content creator can select any gender, language, accent … etc. … you can typically detect an AI voice when it pronounces a word incorrectly … often, transferring a transcript to AI is produced in a literal sounding interpretation …

It would be a little bit easier to justify Chanel‘s prices. If the quality was there it just isn’t so much has changed at least with Hermes, you know you’re getting quality over anything else 🤷‍♂️

They have nice products but this is not justified at all ... i think even if they need to be this expensive then people that work for them should have large paycheck but most certainly they don't have ....

I'd much rather have a Chanel than a Birkin! To me, Chanel is the epitome of Old Money. I do think that spending thousands of dollars on a handbag is a bit much. and I think you can achieve style and a chic look without that price tag. After all, when you get down to it, it's still a purse! I think sophistication and style comes from within, not from what's hanging on your arm! Some Hollywood celebrities can certainly afford these luxury brands, but would call them ladies of elegance, or even ladies at all?

People should stop complaining about Chanel. There is no commandment that every person own a Chanel bag. Whatever your reasons for disliking the brand, simply choose to ignore them. It's easy since the Internet ignores thousands of brands every day. Yes, Chanel is pricey. And as long as people continue to covet the brand, it will remain so. Just ignore them. If only the very rich are able to afford Chanel, within a few years Chanel will be considered a mumsy or dated brand, like Judith Leiber. All this handwringing over "quality issues" and whatever else is silly. If you find the brand unimpressive, ignore them.
