4 years later I'm back watching this video. I finally was able to purchase my very own Chanel Jumbo.. but wow.. we thought the price 4 years ago was too much.. I had a heart attack at every price increase.. but I'm happy that I finally made got my own. This bag definitely makes my heart sings.

Thanks! That's ecactly what I needed to hear at the end! When I first purchased my turenne mm my friends all told me I was crazy for spending so much money on a bag & that actually made me feel awkward to wear it at all thinking people will judge me if I do. I live in a city where people only wear coach or mk bags (that's the holly grail for them) & me wearing a monogram bag made me feel like I was foolish & showing off. After hearing what you said it definitely makes me feel better! I've always dreamt of owning an LV for as long as I can remember, just looking through magazines or watching movies & celebrities. The only one who appreciates my bag is my younger sister who knows more of high fashion, the history & craftsmanship of it all. I recently got the guts to take my prada lux tote out this week & excited I'm getting a speedy 25 ebene for my birthday this month, I'm so excited! Getting a Chanel 2.55 double flap in caviar leather is my dream in the distant future! Thanks for making me feel better!

Wow-you didn't miss a thing with this review! First I want to say thank you for the details and your honesty, as much as I love this bag I personally couldn't do it because I simply carry too much stuff and no matter what I do this just won't cut it and I finally feel ok about that thanks to your words. Second, this really looks amazing cross body on your frame so please reconsider wearing it that way with certain outfits, you would be setting a trend and looking fabulous!

Thank you Minnie for your honesty. I purchased this handbag last summer and I have no regrets. But I was amazed after watching so many review videos that I felt like no one was honest about amount of money involved. I mean they DID give the price, but they acted like it was no big deal. So I really appreciate you being honest for all the future handbag owners, because I reacted the same way as you did. When I went in to put my name on the waiting list - I kept thinking about my car and that this would cover 1/4 the cost of a new one and how ridiculous that this handbag could equal that. Bottom line - I obviously made the purchase but only because I had a sales rep that was able to answer every single one of my questions with satisfaction, but I wasn't prepared for how stressed out I was making that purchase. Best review ever!! and what you say about being realistic about the weight, how much it holds etc is so very true! I've bought LVs and Fendi's in the past 'because I wanted them' and they've sat in the wardrobe for months/years with very little use, some I'd move into, then change out before I left home, for those very reasons. Not only is it a lot of money, but it's "your" money. That said, I love the Double Flap, I used to have a Black Jumbo Double but sold it and just kept my red because it was a birthday gift. Interestingly, while all my Black Double's have the seam on the bottom, my Red Jumbo Double Flap Special Edition (2004) doesn't. I have a small and a medium in Black, but this is the only one that doesn't.

A very informative and honest video! One of the best videos I've seen on KZread. I'm saving to buy one next November God-willing, for my 25th birthday. I feel a little nervous but very excited because yes, I may have designer pieces already but, this will be the most expensive one I've bought. At the same time, I've always loved this bag. I was trying to decide between the jumbo and medium size but I feel like the jumbo will be more beneficial because of how much it can hold and based on how much things I usually carry. Strange question, but because of the measurements, would it fit the iPad Air 2, the slim one? I take that everywhere with me, so it'll be a great pro if it did. Shoulders would kill but hey, so do the Alexander wang rocco bags and I love using those :p great video tho x

Just looked back at this video. So grateful for the information. The jumbo is my holy grail bag and has been for the last few years. I still want to research as I am generally a tote or top handle bag lover or a cross body bag lover, not so much a shoulder bag girl. I feel the medium flap is beautiful but is more shoulder bag so not for me but wonder if the jumbo is too big for cross body although looks great on the mod shots. I also looked at the boy bag but a little short for cross body. The price increase prices me out each time. It has increased by over £1,000 since I first looked at it. I either need to bite the bullet now or leave it I think.

GREAT review Minnie...since the beige is considered classic like black....would you say it could be worn daily and also every season? What are your thoughts....my first jumbo flap. I have SO many black bags, but I also want to be smart and get a color I can wear daily. Thanks again!

Hi Minnie! First off thank you so much for this video; it's so informative! I recently bought the Chanel jumbo in caviar leather, but I noticed that my chains do not squeak... That kind of concerned me seeing how a lot of people seem to have that issue. I'm not sure if I should just be grateful or is my bag defective? I also noticed that with the caviar leather, the bag is not as "poofy" in the edges of the purse. Is this normal? Thanks for an excellent review, I've been on the fence (and the wait list lol) for this bag for a while. It's over $8000 in Australia now, which is crazy...I wish I bought this years ago when it was half the price. hi Minnie. in d modshot when u r carring it crossbody and one chain shoulder, did u tie the chain to make it shorter? or thats the actual length with no adjustment (i.e if d latter u must be tall...sorry if i may have missed u informing ur height in d video)

When my grandmother passed away my mom inherited her medium/large classic flap. It still has the price tag.. My grandmother bought it for around 1k and it had the gold plating. I get upset that the price keeps increasing and the gold plating was discontinued 😐

What do you mean with the fact that the bag no longer has gold plating? What are they doing now for the hardware if it isn't gold?

And now I know how you feel when first have received the bag! It's very awesome feeling. It's like in a dream. I actually waited on list for about 3 months. I went to 3 places before I have decided to purchase the bag. My SA said after this people have to wait on the list for about over 3-6months to get the bag. I was just wondering if you have any wear and tear on the inside of the bag (on the burgundy part of the edges - directly above where the snap button closes) I dont know if you know what I mean but Im experiencing some peeling of the leather from this part and I think this happens when I close the bag with the interlocking without using the snap closure first. Do you have any advice on how to reduce this damage, it is deteriorating 😭 xxxx

My Chanel jumbo squeaked too. So much so, that it prevented me from using my bag for 1 year. I mentioned the problem to my SA, and she had me bring the bag to the store. Chanel fixed the problem within 2 weeks, and it was free! Definitely worth checking out.

Hey Minnie! I actually think this bag looks really nice on your frame crossbody (all ways actually). As much as I love this bag, I don't think it will be added to my collection based on the heaviness you mentioned. I don't know what it is, but i hate heavy bags lol so having smaller bags or bags that do not have a lot of hardware to weigh them down are perfect for me. Great video and informative review! xo

Hi Minnie! I need your help! I have been enjoying my monogram favorite mm bag that is my most recent lv purchase. I'm interested in purchasing a damier azure piece next, that I can use when I need to be compact and as an evening bag. I don't know whether to go with another favorite, the Eva clutch, or pochette. The favorite holds all of my essentials, which is great, but maybe the others would provide a nice variety. The Eva clutch would provide a longer strap that I could also use with my favorite. Or, is there another damier azure piece that you would recommend? I love your videos and would appreciate your suggestions!

Priya Pratik I had a lamb skin and it had a giant scratch on it the very first day. Returned for Cavier and never looked back. Even Cavier isn’t infallible, I have a small scratch on my boy on the side but I buy bags to use them. I would only consider lamb skin if it was going to stay on a shelf and only brought out for nice events, but my lifestyle is way more “on the go” then fancy nights out. Cavier also looks a little more youthful to me which I do like.

I had the same thoughts as you did about the price when I went to buy my bag. But I love it! Mines is in lamb skin and I bought it about 2 years ago. Do you know when they stopped doing the gold plating? My next purchase might be pre loved for Chanel...

hey Minnie ... I want to start off by saying I love your videos... So I am trying to decide now on either a speedy bandouliere 25, a alma pm, or a Pochette Métis I already have never full gm. and I am wanting a cross body of some sort I am wanting one that could /would be one. I want it for more of a if I go out with my kids to the zoo or museum that wouldn't be to heavy but I think I also like the idea of having a bag that could be more functional like a top handle.
