Speaking of self love -- it was my 44th birthday last Tuesday. It was just another day -- I worked (my life is work). My self love is indulging in fragrance. Cristalle EDP is a perfume I got for an Xmas gift from my stepmother in 1994, when I was 17. It was much too complex and mature for me then, but I asked for it because of an ad I saw in Cosmo that pulled me in; and to my delight she bought it. I still wore it sometimes even though it didn't turn out to be suitable for me at the time. My best friend said I smelled like a "grandma. But a rich grandma." I can't remember what happened to that bottle. I was a drug addict (Crystal meth being one of my DOCs, ironically) for much of my life, so it was more than likely stolen. Anyway, on my birthday I bought myself a sealed 1994 vintage bottle off eBay. It arrived today, and I have to admit I'm afraid to crack it open and revisit that time in my life. I'm definitely mature enough, and certainly cold enough, to successfully pull it off now. Thank you for this review.

Thanks Eugene, as a consequence of this video I went out and got my nose onto Cristalle at my local Chanel perfumier here in Antwerp and indeed it is as you say. Distant, self-contained, solitary and elgant. Bright but not shrill, sharp but not cutting, deep but not dark, but most of all, surprisingly complex.

Without self love we search for validation our whole life especially in the darkest places and when we find it we are never sure if it's true.not until we love ourselves first and foremost.

I love Cristalle....i find it very chartreuse green rather than blue/gray..it is a very chilly "fresh" scent but also stand off(ish) as you say. Its my fave of the entire line of Chanel's scents. Im not a fan of the normal DNA that Chanel uses in its fragrances so this one is an outlier in that regard for me.....As for the Fredric Malle's perfume... the creators wife after her husband died, suggested that the perfume be shared w/other women and thats how it became in modern usage. Even though the scent was created for her specifically she felt it should be brought out to the world (so ive heard)...If anyone else has heard this info let me know. Thanks for the review..I dont find it as melancholy as you suggest but we all have feelings regarding this amazing scent...Thanks again..Bob

The meaning of life... Why think about it? Live and let live. We did not ask to be born. Since we live, we should enjoy life. Lately I pamper myself only by buying fragrances. A long time ago I considered spending a lot of money on fragrances unreasonable. Later I would only: spray myself at various department stores and ask for samples. And only when fragrances could be purchased for much, much, much less than their original price I started buying them. I am compensating for all those times when I wanted some fragrances, but would not get them. And THAT makes me feel GREAT! My fragrances are my wealth. I can sell them for much, much, much more than I spent on them. I did not open all my perfumes, maybe just 1% of all. My mother enjoyed fragrances I gave her until she died. I intend to do the same... after all, 2 of the guys I was in love with (a looooong time ago) are already dead.

Love is.... And it is within... And when we shine that love that we already are into the universe we're simply loving the other aspects of ourselves... because consciousness and the universe that it observes are one and that one is love... So in the words of the great philosopher John Lennon love is all there is... ✌️💓

Cristalle, to me, is austere, yes, but also ethereal and otherworldly. It actually picks me up, I feel no sadness in it at all. I guess I have mastered self love :). I am heartbroken as I think Chanel is about to discontinue it, if not already. What a cruel, cruel decision!!!

Ive been wearing Cristalle for over 20 years and I still catch my breath at its blissful aura, every time I dab it. Its not cold and neither am I!! But it is ethereal and has grown with me. I get the loneliness..which is me to a point, I push people away for fear of loss and that is what I imagine my afterlife will be. Floating , spiralling down for eternity, never to ever encounter another being..shit now Im sad..damnit, sprays another waft of my constant, olfactory, companion..hey love your channel, such a lovely contrast to all the wallflowers discussing either Poison or Poison, yawns...

I respect you as a person but I do not agree with your view of reality, if a person can choose to be apart then we are created being with free wil seperate from nature and animals that don't have a choice. Animals and plants also lack a moral sense. When you scold Spot for chewing the carpet and tell him what he did was “wrong,” you aren’t assigning guilt of sin to him, since he can’t commit a sin. Animal and vegetable souls are dependent entirely on matter for their operation and being. They cease to exist at death. Human souls, by contrast, aren’t material. They’re spiritual. Only a spirit can know and love, a spirit’s two chief faculties being the intellect (which knows) and the will (which loves). We know human souls are spiritual since humans can know and love. So i can't subscribe to a group of people or a person who will rape, tourture, abuse an innocent child, i mean we know there are groups of people who preform blood orgies in a drunken frenzy to feel the power of chaos = The power of Chaos is the most seductive, powerful, and addictive drug ever imbibed by mortal souls and, like all drugs, the addicted are doomed! All that remains is a soulless husk driven by the hollow desires and to them it is good as it gives them a feeling of wellbeing and ultimately power, and sometimes information as my belief is that Satan runs this twisted show. But if morality is subjective there is no right or wrong the universe is just dancing for itself, there will be no consequences for pure evil on this world, so saying God is creation/space using itself to perceieve things is a scary proposition to me. I think there is a spirit beyond space and time who actually set the laws of logic, mathematics etc. in place, who designed the structures, the DNA and of course the body of humans to evolve through time same as God word and law was revealed gradually, humans as reflections of himself with free will = to choose him which is good/life or choose evil and death. How do i know that God is good, well he revealed himself to me in Jesus, by saying stuff like "love your enemies" , humbling himself totally, being born where animals are born, and through his life being a ulitmate teacher, healer, priest, king and taking on himself the curse and dying on the cross showing what PURE selfless love is! to me Yeshua showed the invisible reality, he is a God who stumbled upon his throne. We in Croatia are mostly Catholic and i see this secular morality and atheist new age spirit is growing in huge cities, where money and love of things is the game not relationships, love, family and so on and i hope to see people go back to their roots. So the big diffrence between Christianity and other religions and views is that i admit i can't do it by myself, i must look beyond my own wicked spirit and seek purity in God, i struggle and my fallen nature want evil things, but with help of the Holy spirit and me being honest to God that i am a sinner and i need help i will get his love and peace and the door wil open for me. Relying on myself will get me nowhere especially not to a holy state which i thrive to be in as i only see peace in that kind of state free from material free from this finite sickly body, to sustain this body we need flesh we need to consume nature, but for eternal life we need to consume the body of the divine God who is freely giving himself to us, making us more and more into what we should be/suposed to be, made to be, to follow the footsteps of Jesus back home, and it is only achiavable with him holding our hands like we are a little child crossing the street and arogant or pridefull spirit wont hold on, wont look, and crash will happen. His pure blood, his righteousness is a gift not something we need to achieve or work for. He was born of a woman - so that we could be born of God! and my own wordly eclectic spirituality wont save me from my lies, thievery, perversion, love of things, hatred it will only lead to a dead end! Herod couldn't kill Him death couldn't handle Him the grave couldn't hold Him! He has always been and always will be; He had no predecessor and will have no successor; You can't impeach Him and he isn't going to resign! His name is above every name; That at the name of Yeshua Every knee shall bow, Every tounge shall confess His is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever, and ever. Amen!
