Shreyas Talpade is a gem in comedy. Too bad your dissing his acting

Shreyas talpade was so refreshing to see in this. His acting was a cakewalk. Super underrated.

Another good review by BR I wish he could have talked a bit more about the 65 war scene, it felt so gripping in the theatre. A heard a young girl saying “Aare yehi to hero hai marega thodi” That scene was one of the best things I saw in theatres in the last few years.

I first came to know of Murlikant Petkar 2-3 years back when my son with special needs participated in an art contest by an NGO which was completing 6 years. The theme was to create a picture on any topic based on the number 6 . My son did a graphic design featuring 6 unsung Indian heroes with remarkable achievements in the Paralympics. Naturally Murlikant Petkar was amongst the top having won the first individual gold medal. I remember suggesting the topic to him as I was filled with angst at the gross negligence of all those who had participated in the Paralympics and brought laurels to our country in comparison with the kind of recognition participants of the Olympics received . So it was gratifying when I knew that a feature film was being made on Murlikant Petkar. On a lighter note I would like to tell BR that this is a linear story . So it is ok to repeat the narration of Murlikant being laughed at - that humiliation formed the basis of his self - motivation. This is not a Thiagarajan Kumaramangalam or Tisca Chopra creation to have open- ended scenes / dialogues leaving the field wide open for the audience to interpret.😊

My spouse was posted in Sangli for 5 years. We have been in Sangli till 2013 and so we could connect with the story more. It is hard to imagine that such an extraordinary story came to light only after the 2017 visit to the police station by Murlikant Petkar . The crowd scenes during the wrestling bout in Sangli and local slang / accent used are amazingly authentic. Kudos to Kabir Khan , the DOP and the crew behind the supervision of dialogue writing / dialogue delivery with the local accent

Ya the initial portions were hazy but eventually a very good movie

All the actors have performed commendably - Kartik Aryan, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Shreyas Talpade, Bhuvan Arora ( the genial Karnail Singh) and Yashpal Sharma. Vijay Raaz has literally lived the role of Tiger Ali. The performances of all the supporting cast has been brilliant - my favourite scene ( perhaps my all-time favourite in any movie) is the reaction of Murlikant Petkar's parents and brother on hearing about his participation in the Paralympics - they seem to be professional theatre artists the way they lit up the scene . Other touching moments are Rajpal Yadav's outburst at the Selection Committee & the swimming pool scene of the selection letter being read out. The war scenes have also been beautifully picturised. So have the international boxing and swimming events.
