In a lot of her songs I feel like she holds back for some reason. She doesn't let go and just try to hit the high notes, but in this particular one I feel like she did fantastically.

Woah this negativity from these "professionals", she is a talented young artist. Some people tend to make this mistake that covers should 100% mimic the original artist or sung in the same style and it can't be sung in any other way. That's completely wrong, its a cover not a karaoke! And who made it a rule that you shouldn't cover a song unless its sung like the original track? As for those that say there is no emotion, people can internally be hurt without screaming, yelling, crying and televising! These people are just hating because they can't grasp those concepts! For someone at her age to do this cover purely on her own interpretation and work it to fit her voice is genius and I respect her for that. She is purely breathtakingly amazing young artist!

Daisy Henderson Amen! Let's praise the fact that she took a different approach and sounds amazing :) I think that if this was a full on audio cover, people would stop saying she's emotionless. Which I disagree, her subtle hand movements and expressions of her eyes are enough for me. Its like when a person says their fine but they really aren't kinda scenario. Besides, her voice alone brings a certain depth of agony that really substitutes the song more.

***** Well said as well. Jasmine does express emotions, but in a subtle way, like Brits tend to do, and the main emotion she conveys with her rendition of Chandelier is VULNERABILITY. An emotion which is best expressed in a subdued and subtle way, as you point out.

This was the most emotionally impactful cover of this song I have heard. I could feel the raw vulnerability.

I like the ethereal and vulnerable quality in the voice. It's as if I'm eavesdropping on someone's thoughts while their singing the song in their head in stark contrast to Sia belting it out so confidently.

I really enjoyed this cover. I see that a lot of people in the comment section don't seem to realise that you're not trying to hit the same notes, or sing in the same style as Sia. It's far more interesting when an artist does not simply imitate the original artist and instead produces something different.Keep doing what you're doing, originality is rare and your voice is lovely.

Everyone has their own style of singing, chandelier is a challenging song to sing and to hit the note like sia you need a powerful chest voice and jas has an amazing head voice so she uses that instead so she doesn't miss the note or try to hard and hurt her voice

Go onto her channel and listen to her Live 02 Covers. Her voice sounds better unedited. Reverb gives the song a more professional echoing sound. She uses a condenser mic, all artists use it. Its just they usually have loud 'poppy' beats in the background to cover it.

It's called taking the song and making it her own. It's not supposed to sound like a knock off and she's not trying to sound like Sia. That's what I love so much about Jasmine Thompson. She makes each and every song she covers her own, and she does so exquisitely. She has the ability to lure me in. I find myself really listening to the lyrics of songs I've known for years and walk away with a whole new understanding of the song. She has covered songs I never even liked much and made them some of my favorites. She is wonderfully amazing and still so young. She is going to be like a fine wine and only get better with age. ♥
