Momoko Okada, a resident jewelry artist,demonstrates the ancient art of enameling called "champleve". Fine glass enamel is inlayed/wet packed in a recessed design in copper which is then fired in a kiln and stoned level with the upper surface of the copper jewelry art work revealing the polished copper and enamel design.

Thank you for sharing. I love etching and will no incorporate both etching and enamelling. If I didn't live so far away I would be at one of your classes - but Brisbane Australia is just a little far at this time 😁😁
What is the difference between Klyr fire and the distilled water I have using for thirty years.

Klyr Fire is a binder like a glue, it keeps the enamel glass in place. Other binder types can be used, but Klyr Fire is one of the most popular, comes from Thompson Enamels. Appears that she is placing the binder into the cell and then inserting some dry enamel to the cell with the binder already in the cell. I've also seen people mix the enamel and binder together in the paint palette first and then insert the wet enamel mix to the cell... either way works it appears.
