Hi guys. I tried to turn off the air cooling in the video as much as possible so that the milling sound could be heard. While editing the video, I noticed that my colleague Andrej was fooling around behind me, so I left it in the video 🙂

Впервые за 20 лет работы такое увидел

Thanks for showing, but as far as the striking of the workpiece you need to work on the safety! No edge protection on both chain and rope. Yes, even life-threatening steel on steel results in a risk of slipping for the part and so fast you can not jump in Save

You can mill steel without coolant. It's better for inserts because they don't receive thermal shock. They stay warm/hot all the time instead of getting hot and cooling down by every rotation.

What he means is that it took about 30 minutes for an existing program to download to his machine. These type parts are forming or mold dies from some type of large company. Probably automotive. Their programs for these parts are proprietary information so the actual program is coded by the customer. The company paying to have this part made. The cnc operator, not a machinist, downloads this program to run the parts. Then the program is deleted from the cnc equipment. This guy simply downloads the program and sets up the machine with the proper tools then sits and plays Call of Duty all day while it runs. Just think of all the old cars from the ‘50s that had all the cool lines on em. A real machinist had to make the forming dies for those car fenders and hoods on a manual machine. Now those guys were real machinist.

@@martinswiney2192 "A real machinist had to make the forming dies for those car fenders and hoods on a manual machine." 😂If you worked like that today, you wouldn't earn any money. The technology is outdated, which invalidates your statement... :P. And the CNC-Operator/Machnist not only download the finished programm. You receive the finished CAD model from the customer. You then have to generate your milling strategies in the CAM system. This requires a lot of knowledge...

It's all a question of how long it will take. A manual operator can obviously get the cutting head to each point the CNC machine moves it. But it will take a lot longer. And cost a lot more.
