It honestly looks great. Patience is definitely key with these and trusting the tank itself to right itself. Soon enough it will be thick vegetation 😁👍

Well thank you so much. Although I'm not an expert. I just love the hobby and want to try and experience more and more with natural style aquariums

I was discussing this other night with a couple folks , same thing, when we did our live together and he guided me while I built my ff tank, he said to add fish immediately, well did not do that as ammonia and nitrites sky high, I added a sack of established bio media beside the sponge filter and also been adding seachem stability to help boost the beneficial bacteria , it’s about cycled but , with everything being new , I knew there would be a cycle so I did not add fish yet either. If I would have used sand out my Oscar tank it would have been insta cycled, but to start new, no can’t add fish.

Yea I appreciate your comments. For sure that was my experience. At about 2 weeks in, the tank started to stabilize. Now at a month in I have guppies living in the I did put shrimp in there like after a few days of setting it up. But all is doing great now. I'm loving it.

Hi, I was wondering what made you put your dirt down twice? Do you not like the sand on top?

It's not dirt it's black sand on the top layer. Bottom is 1 inch dirt, then 2 inches white sand, then 1 inch black sand
