@@arron4749 The Abrams having a longer reload after 1st stage is meaningless because the first stage it the area in the back of the turret which hold plenty of rounds for an entire match. Like wise the Leo 2s and Type 10s only having blow out panels for 15-16 shots isn't a problem, because you won't need more than that in a standard match. Basically everyone leaves after one death so its unlikely you'll encounter more than three enemies and if you need more then 5 shots per enemy it won't matter how big your ammo reserve is because aiming like that means you won't last long enough to use it. While you may be right that some other tanks have worse reload, or armour, or whatever else, the Chally has, or is tied for, the worst of all of them at the same time on one tank.

I want Chally 2 to have a turret rotation speed like in real life, turning 1 round takes only about 10 seconds, instead of as long as a lifetime.

I want a reallife Chally 2 cause than any other tank ingame can go take his stuff and leave haha cause Chally is stronger then Leo2A6 now proofen in Ukrain. Stronger than Abrams, cause they fight over years the Same weaponery. and Chally 2 didnt explode from a Tow rocket like the Trashcan Us tank.

Of course maybe he get destroyed in Ukrain, I mean the Leo got destroyed cause no Air support. Btw. CHally 2 fight 4 years without Air Support in Iraq but dont matters cause Mines and hundret of Rocket or 3BM42/46 round who are fired into his armor but yeah. Chally 2 Survived Cause he has the strongest Armor. Able to destroy any Nato Tank include Chally 2 but only in his Weakspots wich mean Driver Spot and Lower hull. Thats a Fact. Leo and Abrams are completely Fucked cause they have only Turret armor wich get not Penetrated by this Round.And Abrams is maybe a lag too when its the M1A1 cause the First really strong Abrams was the M1A2 Tusk 2.

Dunno about the Fortress part. The chally's armor in game is as effective as a wet blanket.

@@Gears-2 thats probably because Gaijin has nerfed it semi recently, took out all the armour plating in the side of the turret and made the ufp weaker

The Challenger is restricted to Hull down defensive position game play, but Gaijin can't even give it proper breach armour so it can fulfil this role...

yeah gaijin does this to alot of tanks like a deliberate nerf. its not good gameplay to treat breaches and there armour like paper and have them shot out every 10 seconds people should have to actually aim not get cheap kills. one of the most annoying for me is the fv4005 breach that when a single 50cal touches is knocked out yet the bloody things thicker than most tanks armour.

All MBT's in War Thunder have nerfed breach armour. If the Challenger gets proper breach armour all other MBT's should get it as well.

@murkser4149 Of course, these are weak points in the game. However, the Challenger's, compared to the likes of the Leopard and the T80/90's (as an example), is unreasonably massive and unrealistic. You don't even need to try and shoot the weak points around the Challenger's breach. It's so big that it takes up about 1/3 of its frontal turret armour.

I can agree with that the Challe in the real life one of the safest MBT's and it is a real tracked fortress, btw the almighty snail doesn't like the briish tech-tree, so its one of the weakest MBT's in the game and deffinetly not a tracked fortress... Isn't it a pity?

It's red team bias because that's where most of the cheaters and hackers are and they are all nearly PC users. There needs to be separate services for console and PC users.

Its just significantly easier to play WT on PC and the skill gap between pc players and console players is noticeable BUT what the snail needs to do is make a GROUND BATTLES actually be ground battles instead of CAS battles

not just armour but its mobility especially when turning as well as its turret traverse and gun elevation speed. theres also the wet bins that prevent the charges from exploding in a way that would kill the crew easily but this isnt modelled. and now with the apds changes most of the mid tier stuff is rubbish like the conqueror especially i bounce or shatter leo 1s endlessly.

Please fix challenger 1 and the challenger 2 armour. Over the years since challenger 1 first came to the game i have provided plenty off source's from every challenger book out there to unclassified documents like documents on the challenger 1 trails were they compared it to the Abrams. And it proved challenger 1 MK2 had around 500mm against kinetic and atleast 1000mm against chemical ammunition. And don't get me started on challenger 2 are how yous have give its add-on armour kits there incorrect protection values !!

And when you add it all up plus the tanks side hull armour it should be atleast 30mm apfsds proof of not 40mm and with the configuration that TES is in, it should stop Tandam warheads so it should should be pretty much immuned from every sort of chemical ammunition in the game !!

In my experience, Challengers get punched through by anyone on their BR and the Challenger 2 has a very weak dart for its tier compared to other MBTs. Then when you hear to go to the nearest sniper spot... where every other MBT is faster and has better darts at the same time, I wonder if the staff are playing their own game.

Big shame about the armor but the weaker dart makes sense because it uses a rifled cannon which due to the fins of an APDSFS round causes it to act like paddles in the air

550mm of pen at 1000m its not bad penetration, even when u play with abrams sep and leopard 2a6 you have to aim carefully to destroy enemy tanks, when i face challengers I have a lot of trouble finding the weak spot and if I miss the first shot I'm sure I'm still in the fight because I know he'll reload faster and finish the fight. the challenger's only real weakness is mobility

@@ycgameplays the L23 is so horrible that even though you hit the side of a Russian mbt right in the ammo and then into there fuel tank you have a 90% chance of doing nothing to him or a 10% chance of killing him. I do agree that getting stock apfsds is better then getting heatfs. But there are still downsides to the stock dart which does make the grind painful.

@@dedneyder3586 a while ago i faced the challenger with a t80 stock minion and when i saw this tank in front of me i knew i just had to sit and cry, because my shots didn't cause any damage, especially the version with extra protection on the sides

Add some more light tanks for Britain and fix the challanger armour

3:08 the l23 round does not do a lot of damage. When grinding the challenger 2 and challenger TES it refused to detonate Russian ammo racks. This is the finest form of gaslighting. Also fix and buff the challengers protection. (main problem is that most documents are still classified )

Id love the TES if it actually had its real applique armour values, The TES package is supposed to be pass STANAG level 6 which is protection against 30mm APFSDS at 500m, looking at the rounds in game that would give around 80mm of effective kinetic protection, rather than 30mm of kinetic protection given in game. It doesnt sounds like much but that increase would dramatically improve it against the IFVs and would seriously reduce the effectivness of spalling against the challenger 2 TES. And the armour hole that is the breech makes 0 sense, fix those and the Challenger 2s will be a lot more viable in game.

It literally does protect from 30mm APFSDS on the TES. People always ignore the extra composite armour plate behind the ERA.

​@@murkser4149Yes it does, but the key is that the TES ERA should be able to resist 30mm APFSDS entirely by itself, no composite required. Right now it is functionally identical to the 2F in terma if protection outside of a few edge cases, while weighing substantially more. It's arguably one of the best end of the line vehicles in the game back when it was an end of the line because it made the 2F lose it's research penalty and there was no reason to get the TES and be disappointed, you can already be disappointed without getting it.

Because it's not Russian Gaijon will give the Challenger armour made of paper 📜🗞️

Please make its manuverability realistic

I'm sure the top secret information leaked about this tank has not been implemented in game and will not preform as the real deal.

Its been like that for years. I think the last 2 br changes were the only where Russian tanks weren't lowered. Previously you'd see more lowered than raised which was opposite of every other nation

Too bad the Challenger 2 TES is completely nerfed into the floor by having the wrong ERA... IRL it has Rafael Shield R armor that's a mix of a NERA underplate with an ERA brick on top, in War Thunder it is visually Shield R, but is only ROMOR in protection. this problem's been pointed out for for years on the forums now, ever since before it was even officially added to the game. the TL/DR of the Challenger 2s in War thunder is IMO that the Black Night is the ONLY one worth using. as the rest are too slow and heavy and their top round is easily the worst in the game at top tier. (and unlike USSR/USA/(maybe) Germany, they have NOTHING that can back up their Challengers as their planes and helicopters are essentially worthless when compared to MiG-27K/Mi-28N and F-14B and F-16A) (and maybe Germany's MiG-29 as an intermediate solution to their lack of actual 12.0 groundstrikers)

The Challenger experience is having someone look at you and shooting anywhere without a care in the world whilst you have to aim for very small and specific points to even damage them, let alone kill. The Challenger experience is spending near a minute repairing your breech and gun barrel because someone hit one and somehow got both. This is with a level 150 silver crew too. The Challenger experience is getting ammo racked by Ruskis and Jerries but rarely detonating their ammo even with a direct hit. The Challenger experience is having your armour work when your gun is out and you are surrounded by T tanks. The Challenger experience is having a thirty millimetre mantlet, so even if the armour did work consistently, it would not matter anyway. Boy am I glad I got them all.

Please make its manoeuvrability realistic, please give it a faster turret traverse, please give the round its actual penetration, please model the armour correctly, please add more IFVs to Britain around top tier.

When will the suspension on wheeled vehicles (example: Radkampfwagen) react with the movement of the wheels? atm it seems they don't, at least not on console.

It would be nice if you brought the rounds you were speaking of on the screen, when you list off the round types, it means almost nothing to me.

The survivability of all Challengers is almost the same as light tanks. One hit to the armor under the turret and you go to the hangar. Interestingly, when you shoot at Russian MBT tanks, you need at least 3 shots to the same place. As a result, the Challenger is not a Tracked Fortress. I’m ruining your myth in your own game.

The slow speed is okay. If the lower front plate is penned, the player is using it wrong(though Chobham 2F really should be strong enough to ricochet most apfsds). The turret rotation and gun elevation should be much faster. But the breech armour error just makes it borderline unplayable
