    You have to commend the new dude for putting himself out there and trying to make a difference, but the best way to ingratiate yourself with colleagues and to get results is not to talk to them like you are ruffling their hair and giving them a tap on the ass. He isn't their boss and he shouldn't be acting like he is! But also, whilst Roman is awesome, he also has a bit of that, 'we've been doing this 20 years, so we must be doing it right' attitude. Every business can be improved and every business needs to stop the ego and accept new ideas and perspectives. He shouldn't have shut the guy down how he did.

    Exactly, every management course says that. Nice to read this comment. It's very difficult for a manager to accept that his way that has been the way for 20 years is not the best way anymore. Technology changes, people management changes, customers change, ... Keep up. Start by really listening to advice.

    This is what owning a business is like, you have to manage the entire tribe and all the different personalities, the most difficult part is to keep everyone focused at the company as a whole but not individual interest. When everyone in the company realizes that the success of the company far outweighs individual gains, that's the ultimate dream for any business owner.

    To be fair, 2K USD for a 2021 Omega Seamaster 300 is a grotesque joke.

  • @kronikinsomniak

    @kronikinsomniak

    2 жыл бұрын

    It's low but the reasoning is not grotesque. Grey market dealers will always fall on the low side because you are paying for the convenience and security in the transaction. They are also in the business of reselling instead of someone buying the watch from you to keep. They need room for profit and extra room to move the watch and not lose money if it becomes hard to move. Why the heck would a business take that much more in liability just to make a couple a hundred of dollars on an Omega that is available on Jomashop for $4K? Also good luck selling it to a credible buyer yourself if you have no seller's history online. I rather take less but guaranteed money then risk losing all of it. That is what happens when you buy a soft brand.

  • @law4853

    @law4853

    Would have expected mid 2k on that one which is in line with what Adrian said but that was after or just cosign it.. I have a consignment piece (non-Rolex) with them and it is at a reasonable price but if I wanted a instant cash offer it's on the low end which is totally expected. You have to account for everything... overnight shipment potential both ways, tax, storage time, actual profit, and it goes on..

    Its low because they assume all the liability and have to resell it. Unless you personally want to take your chances with getting scammed on ebay or PayPal that is the price you pay for security and not running a full time business. Omega is all good when you are buying it at a discount, but this is the price you pay for buying a soft watch. Watches also don't move as fast as something like clothes, it has to be worth their while to hold and profit from.

    There are many critical details being left out whether if it was used and what mm. But let's say it was used* Not many people want omega's, hence the trade for a rolex. It was a low offer but at most maybe 2500, brand new asking is 5k, pre nego. If it was new, that is a pretty bad offer but in that case sell it privately. I hope he doesn't expect a watch dealer to buy a new watch at market value to sell at market value, that make's no sense.

He seems like a sharp kid, but he wants it all to happen now, and without putting in the work. He's trying to reinvent the wheel by showing Roman a wheel........
