Sometimes I really look forward to a conversation between several people but I really just wanted to hear what shakacon had to say and not anybody else .. so yeah I do feel by her cutting in and cutting her off and talking about herself she did usurp Chaka Khan's " interview " .

She's the best example of when people say "thank God, I don't look like what I've been through!" still very beautiful ESPECIALLY because she started hard drugs young. God did good by her; she's an example that He'll reach down WHEREVER you are & pull you out to save you & His grace & mercy over us when we're not making good decisions.

One of the greatest women I have ever met . I spent time with her on a rainy day in London and she was so kind to me .She said at the time it was because I spoke to her like a person and I was genuine when all those around her weren’t . The shoot was amazing she shines from within.Her kids were lovely.About 2 weeks later I was about to cross the road at traffic lights and she shouted my name . I didn’t think that she would even remember me . It lifted my heart to this day. She is as beautiful as the day we met .Love her forever for being even better in person than she is vinyl.❤

I'm 62 now and I still think she has the most beautiful smile and face. The first time I saw her way back she took my breath away. I love her smile. Hands down the nicest in the world. What an incredible voice too. I'm a metal /hard rock guy but will stop to listen and watch her anytime. I feel for her...yuk yuk.

Who do you find to play the baddest icon in the game? Chaka khan is in a class by herself!!! When I saw her sing in French for the first time, I was floored!!! She is just multi-talented.

Luenell did a GREAT interview here because she lived part of Chaka's life. This seemed more like two friends just cutting up instead of an interview. I LOVE this! This was one of the best conversations. Luenell is so real and Chaka is too! This was FANTASTIC! Stevie Wonder should have insisted that she got credit for that song!

Insightful interview! Chaka is candid, no nonsense, has lived an enriched life, has enormous regard for her craft while paying homage to "The Greats" before her! A legend! 💃

This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen in my whole life. Everything you would want to ask her herself and done in such a conversational and gracious way. I bow to her and her talent and tenacity. It was great to hear about her bohemian upbringing and artistic parents and the back story, including her voice and her way of how she herself hears it. The horn analogy makes perfect sense. Chet Baker would sing as if he was playing the horn and you can get so much out of this interview as a musician or as a fan. She is a LEGEND. Respect to her always. A true true artist x LOVE HER

The issue of smoking and getting older tried to mess with my mind but I will never give up give in or do waste what I was put here to do. Thank you Chaka Khan! Total inspiration and motivation.

@@edwardwheeler197 Chaka's brother Mark Stevens is the male background vocal on "Clouds". Luther is on "Nothing's Gonna Take You Away", "Papillon (Aka Hot Butterfly)" and "Our Love's In Danger". There's no mistaking Luther's voice on "Papillon", it almost feels like a low-key duet! Chaka's first three solo albums imho had the best background vocal arrangements EVER!!!! There should be some kind of Background Singers Hall of Fame Award given to those talents!!!!

47 years of my life I've listened to and been loving this woman. I was 18 when I first heard that first Rufus album. I was in college and they came to perform in Pittsburgh. Show was "Rated X"...she would show her cesarean scar...it was 70s y'all so it got that rating. Her voice has been magnificently unique and masterful in every genre she has sung.from those days to now. Just an amazing artist❤. This was a fabulous interview. So real. Unjaded. Love love love her. The fact that she said " she didn't know Prince did drugs" was hearsay. Prince did NOT drugs on a regular basis. Prince had two joints replaced. Chaka said ankles. I remember it was said that he had had two hips replaced. I stayed closely to the news when it broke . Prince's band members also stated that they couldn't even get Prince to drink coffee or tea because they had caffeine and he didn't want caffeine in his body. The press is ran by the billionaires and the news is whatever they want it to be. It's best to listen to news reports late at night when not to many people are listening. Evidently Chaka didn't hear the authorities announce that the meds Prince took was not the pain meds the doctor prescribed for him. Same color, same size, but was not the right meds. An investigation was opened and they were looking at a female. So Chaka and everybody else who only have speculation , don't make judgments until you have confirmed info.

I enjoyed every second of this conversation! EACH! Chaka was and still is one of my greatest inspirations in music history! She’s original and unique from head to toes. She always was and she always will be the one and only Chaka! I had the privilege of meeting her, in San Diego, CA. Through a family friend Doug. They use to date and she went to his class reunion. Morse High School. And she stated that would be her first reunion. Because she did not graduate. She was so beautiful...And wholesome, and Doug is a good guy. Possibly 15 years her junior.🥰

It seems like he tries to case up the interviewees, if you don't have media training or the gift of deflection and not taking the bait you'll be in a world of trouble, you really know how to navigate his interviews.

I'm an old school r&b soul funk loving brother that loves Chaka Khan's albums from Rufus to her solo career. A big fan of Chaka's music I mean that woman is extremely talentive.

For me this may go down as the most enjoyable and honest interviews I've ever watched. Great job Luenell love you both, thanks for sharing.

I knew Miles Davis very well. Hung out at his house on upper West Side side of NY at a few Jazz Jam sessions. He read music with the best of them. While he appreciated musicians who had sharp ears, he had another dimension of respect for those who could read music and had a great grasp of theory. I've always admired Chaka's gift.

@Doris Yeah. Miles Davis went to Juliard, so of course he could read music. However, you get Chaka's point, a lot of great musicians (especially the last few decades in Pop music) did not read music. Nonetheless, Chaka and Miles were great friends as well, and they really respected and liked each others musics and gifts.

I've heard about this interview for years and now finally watched it. Lunell was perfect for this. Great interview, felt like girlfriends talking. It was as down to earth as an interview can be. I can see how Fam took this wrong. Love Lunell! Chaka is a down to earth Queen! Her her unique vocal instrument will be always be cherished!

An excellent interview! My wife and I were dating way back in 1974 when we fell in love with this woman and her awesome talent!
