The backrest is the best part of the chair for me. The black border and getting that evenly around centering the pieces turned out mint. You’re editing, and possible use of AfterEffects, are getting better and better. Doggy! Woby, good boy!

Think about putting the legs and spindles into compression before assembly. Perhaps drill a hole through the center a place all-thread with nuts and washers on end or fit a tension wire down the center. That might provide the strength needed for this application.

I saw a video where model airplane makers thin epoxy out to something very liquid - say 10:1 mineral spirits to epoxy. Then they paint it on the balsa wood and it nearly fossilizes it. Maybe you could experiment or find a similar recipe to structuralize the skateboard pieces.

In another iteration consider breaking out of the flat planes and straight spindles. I think giving the design more form would make it more visually appealing.

Excellent chair 🪑. Sucks that it broke, but that’s how you learn.
Its a beautiful creation! If I may offer some insight? since it is a less than perfect "lamination" situation, if you were to put something of a core into it, similar to how rebar and metal mesh are used in laying brick and concrete, it would give the epoxy and the skateboard bits something to adhere to. You could use very thin rebar or steel rod as the substrate for the legs and arm supports and chicken wire for the flat parts. Just a thought!

Just a thing.... For the sake of your lungs, you should use, at least, a dust mask when cutting or sanding epoxy, a real 3M cartridge mask is better....😉 Breathing epoxy dust is very bad for your health...
