Chainsmoking your love (death by validation)

The more I attempt to deny… I can feel the fibers of the rope hug my throat…
Tethered to validation… all i want is freedom from the noose… teetering on hope.
But i can feel the frayed fibers of a well seasoned lasso slip another notch…
The more i struggle the harder it is to breathe…
“All you have to do is give in… come with us... its your destiny…”
They chanted, “we are what you need, dont ask questions, with us your fate is guranteed.”
I responded… “create or die… id rather have hope that certainty is just round the corner to save us then a slow death of the mundane.”
His stone read as it rained… “Here lie a stubborn soul slane…
questioning till his last breath… “always a student” he said and that’s how he left” .
