Chainsaw Carving at the Off Grid Cabin

I finally have a go at a little chainsaw carving. It turned out pretty rough but it was fun none the less. The next one will be better!
This was carved from the large spruce tree I cut behind the cabin. The chainsaw used is a Stihl MS170. God bless!

You've got a real nice beaver there... You could almost stretch that woodchuck pelt over it for a touch of realism. 🦫😉

Way to go with the carving Riley 😃, yeah from some of the videos I saw people use different sizes of chainsaws, I remember watching a Japanese show and this guy used a bigger one to cut the log down, a similar sized one that you have to get it to form, and a smaller one for the fine details 🤙🤙🤙

Awesome job! maybe something black for a nose, and some whiskers, and a couple of white rocks for front teeth?! pretty amazed that you didn't even draw lines with pencil or sharpie for your cut lines!!!

Absolutely fantastic job. Really. May not be perfect but for your first try..? Awesome. I’d be proud it looks great to me. If you get more tools you can always improve it latter. Good luck and stay safe out there 👍👍

Not sure if it's the biggest you have done. The rocking horse was probably close in size 😉. As expected, it look good. The imagination and experience with hand tool carving has done you a favour. 😁 Maybe a wolf could good project if you are looking for something bigger, but I have no experience or particular reason why. Just liked that idea. Looking forward to what's coming up in the future.

I mean, I couldn't draw a picture of a beaver that looked anywhere near that good, let alone try to carve it out of hunk of wood with a chainsaw...lol. Very nice work.
