I like your style buds. Couple of suggestions: -make the end of the shaft a fraction too big for the pulley, heat the pulley slowly with a torch until it fits the shaft and let it cool. That way it can be removed to change the bearing out -welding up the ends of your pipe. Instead of cutting too big, cut the same diameter as the pipe minus the wall thickness. You'll end up with a beautiful weld that you won't need to grind down too much, and you can just roll the pipe to get your bead on.

Perfect work perfect idea .

The chain saw is consumable, it sharpens periodically and when it is below a certain level it is replaced. The same effect can be obtained with an unmodified chainsaw that also has chain lubrication and the chain can be sharpened.

I appreciate your creativity. The main issue is how to sharpen the blade? Is it possible to add some mechanism inside the drum that could be used to tighten the chain through it's length? Exit guard would not be difficult to add the front guard probably needs to only allow slightly less than half the diameter of the drum to be fed in and maybe a bit of length, like 10" rectangular tubing. v1.0 maybe?

Great idea! Awesome knowledge of machinist how are you gonna sharpen the chain when it gets dull ?

to the author of the video, two questions, whether the engine power is enough , and how to sharpen the chain

What if you made the main drum thicker walled, then milled a spiral into it to accept the drivers from the chain, and also so the chain attaches at both ends? Then you can detach the chain, remove it to sharpen it, then wind it back in place.

can you make a video of after you have made a 1.5 metre 20 cm diameter tube leading down to the shredder (for safety and so one can throw logs and sticks in it while picking up the next one? also a shield on the rear so people dont crawl in. so maybe a tube of the same type on that side too. all at an angle or somehthing. @@DiamleonDiyBuilds

Для заточки цепи можно использовать цилиндрические насадки с алмазным напылением для шуруповерта, они продаются дешево и в любом количестве на сайте Алиэкспресс.

До того как он цепь начал приваривать все шло довольно таки неплохо, учитывая его станочный парк ожидал увидеть изготовление ножей, по примеру вала фуговального станка, но когда он приварил пильную цепь к валу удивления не было предела)))

I like the idea, but this is gonna be impossible to disassemble for maintenance. The shaft supports are welded in place so there is no way to remove the cutter head. Also, the heat from the welding probably softened the chainsaw teeth and will make them go duller more quickly. Really cool build, just make sure you have your safety glasses on!

Another great project. One suggestion, add one more gear so that the chainsaw trigger would be on the same side of the chipper where you are feeding the wood. One man operation then. Saw you had some help feeding it for this project. You Mae a lot of wood chippers, is there a high need for that where you live. It certainly would be useful in my part of the world.

you did an amazing job on this build! kudos to you! It almost looks like the best results I have seen in the quality of chips. Have you worked more on this machine to finetune it? Did you use it for doing a real job, if so how is it going? I would buy the chipper part from you if you would make it

ok, I have to say it: its a great idea but there is a disadvantage to it: that kind of chain loses it sharp fast so if you need to replace it you have to build new one

Все шло неплохо до момента сварки цепи к валу… но после полный фейспалм

Как точить цепь автор конечно не подумал ))) Да и ограничительные зубья не срезал, а надо в данном случае.Одноразовая выходит поделка.Но сама идея заслуживает внимания. Вал с цепью заменить на диски пильные твердосплавные. Одеть на ось с проставками штук 10. Выйдет не убиваемая весч. Правда придётся ещё направляющую приварить под углом к оси вращения.

Не диски пильные а ножи лучше от фуганка или рейсмуса

Лучше традиционные конструкции, только не могу найти в чем разница между молотковым и просто с ножами как фуганки? Собираюсь строиться и выбираю для производства щепы какой лучше сделать?
