Exactly. I’m learning metal smithing. People often says silver is so cheap but why the jewellery piece is so expensive. They don’t know how many steps and time spent are there

@BOBBO’S WORLD I highly suggest trying it. I’m in the same boat. Start with copper. Use simple hand tools. I got a jewellers frame saw on Amazon for 20$ and it came with 144 blades. Get copper wire from a hardware store or a craft store. Cheap butane torch from a hardware store. Get copper solder. You can use hard solder or pallet solder like seen in this vid or you can use syringe solder. Just mess around with jump rings (the circles he makes by cutting the spring he made” make a simple chain by just linking them together. Solder. File. Polish. It’s super fun

This is hard work. While jewelry shopping we can't bargain on the gold price as it is fixed everywhere. but we can bargain to get discount on the labor. Not fair though, these crafty people make so little money already. These are poor people
