Hey man just caught your video I was watching you with your problem all is good with everything you've done but you notice the hole in the end of the shaft that is actually a Pingree soul that greases a set of roller bearings behind the clutch housing a lot of people don't know this but there is Roller bearings in the back sometimes do to not be in greezed they disintegrate which causes the clutch to have wobble but clutch has wobble it wobbles enough to constantly keep the chain moving give that a try my friend keep up the good videos Good Luck

Is it the same as in ms180? Bcs I have the same issue and I think my clutch are fine but still it spins on idle. Changed the sprocket and the bearing (spindle) still it dsnt work and the clutch are not moving freely when spin by hand.

Looks like those needle bearings are wore out or seized letting the clutch drum wobble...

Had the same problem with the chain always turning on my Stihl MS251. Got lucky tho it was just a build up of crud on the inside of the sprocket hub causing clutch to always be engaged

do not mix clutch parts from different manufacturers, the metals will be different hardnesses and they will fail quickly

ive got an 046 that i got on fb marketplace for a pretty good deal i had to get a bar chain a filter and a chain tensioner slide plate for it and now i when i got the bar and chain on when i pull the pull chord the chain spins with it. it fires up but as soon it dies if i dont keep the revs up. could this be the clutch as well? im pretty sure it is i just thought id see if you had a second opinion. i ordered a new clutch for it its not stihl but hyway ive heard they make decent stuff. also another reason i think it might be a bad clutch is when it idled without a bar on it it seemed to vibrate and shake like crazy but when youd rev it up it would smooth out. i read that a bad clutch can make them vibrate i guess idk im just a backyard mechanic. i work with saws everyday for work but i never use any of my own. lately ive been running a ms440 abunch or for real big stuff i bust out the 661 but ive honestly been cutting stuff with the 440 mainly unless its like 5 foot on the stump anything under 48 i can get with a 25 inch bar. idk why i said all that but if u see this and can let me know that would be great lol thanks. and great video too btw

It's actually quite difficult to find info about this issue. It's seriously annoying. I find when this starts to happen more after a bit of use the chain will start to move when idle, presumably because the springs are warmer and looser?!
