I think it’s just different personality and not really a gap in generation. Let’s remember Aravindswamy also came from a good background, he didn’t need to act as he says. And in general he seems to be a calmer guy who is not really giving into passion or emotional decisions. He has a good platform so if smething works it works , if it doesn’t he goes into a new venture as per his interest. It doesn’t work for every1. Chitra sir seems to have had a passion and pursued it and came up the hard way. So it’s just different personalities and experiences.

I think expecting any other person to change is going to lead to disappointments. Men and women are different individuals & they will always think different and bring their own view. Accepting that without expecting anyone else to change is important.

Almost all Maniratnam movies are a slimy and a stealthy copies only. With cunning intelligence he projects as if it his own brain child. Mahendran's, "நெஞ்சத்தைக் கிள்ளாதே", turned out as, "மௌனராகம்". Earlier it was "Godfather" turned out to be "நாயகன்". Even Kamalhaasan's acting was exactly the copy of Marilyn Brando's acting. "கடல்" from "ஞான ஒளி". "பம்பாய்" from "1942-Love Story".

While all comments here seem to praise him- I felt he didn’t answer anything with a black or white. Probably he is really a person who doesn’t care for one way or another in life i.e no committal who doesn’t have an opinion on anything (ppl like that exist :-) ) or his experience running a corporate environment is being used here. He doesn’t want to hurt anyone - so politically correct. It may be different from other cine interviews for smeone listening to corporate speak- it sounds eerily similar :)
