Just recently started playing the sitar. My teacher taught me the various raags in South Asian music. Unless you know how to play a musical instrument, one can't appreciate a particular singer.

चाहत में क्या दुनिया-दारी इश्क़ में कैसी मजबूरी लोगों का क्या समझाने दो उन की अपनी मजबूरी मैं ने दिल की बात रखी और तू ने दुनिया वालों की मेरी अर्ज़ भी मजबूरी थी उन का हुक्म भी मजबूरी रोक सको तो पहली बारिश की बूंदों को तुम रोको कच्ची मिट्टी तो महकेगी है मिट्टी की मजबूरी ज़ात-कदे में पहरों बातें और मिलीं तो मोहर ब-लब जब्र-ए-वक़्त ने बख़्शी हम को अब के कैसी मजबूरी जब तक हँसता गाता मौसम अपना है सब अपने हैं वक़्त पड़े तो याद आ जाती है मसनूई मजबूरी इक आवारा बादल से क्यूँ मैं ने साया माँगा था मेरी भी ये नादानी थी उस की भी थी मजबूरी मुद्दत गुज़री इक वा'दे पर आज भी क़ाएम हैं 'मोहसिन' हम ने सारी उम्र निबाही अपनी पहली मजबूरी

Super gazal ... हकीकत को क्या खूब लिखा है.

We are in such a time where all the talents are on our fingertips to watch and still are too insensitive to appreciate the old times, old music, old traditions. I wish todays generation can go back in 70s, 80s and 90s and have feel of such innocent and original music, people, and respect.
