What an emotional roller coaster: Adesanya went from a soul-crushing loss (Pereira 1) to a triumphant victory (Pereira 2) to an embarrassing defeat all in the span of a year.

Anderson was 43 years old when Izzy fought him. Izzy was only 29 and a single fight away from the title at the time. You cannot judge the better fighter from a legacy standpoint on that fight alone. Chael needs to go back and have a rethink. Anderson was also never the same after the leg break.

Anderson was still putting on absolute beating on guys and finishing almost every one of them when he was 33/34. Izzy has 5 finished in the UFC out of 16 fights. Silva has 14 finishes with 25 fights. Anderson is 100% better than Izzy is, was or could be. Silva did start losing all his fights til he was 40 older. If he stopped after losing to Weidman he would be 33-6 with 23 ko/tko, 3 subs and 8 decisions overall. And 16-2 in the UFC with 14 finished and 2 decisions. Comparing Andersons complete dominance to Izzy's wins is a joke. Silva dominated everyone he beat, for the most part. Izzy is a decision machine with a few finishes.

He couldn't get it done on the feet and he was stuck getting outclassed by Strickland's striking. Compare that to Silva who we've seen be able to find success on the ground or with his clinch game. Also compare him to Volk who can switch up his game when he needs to and find other ways to win other than just striking.

Izzy does need more tools, needs to adapt multiple stances such as a boxing stance as well as a maybe even a high guard to counter pressure fighting. His jab was coming from the hip & that I believe lost him the fight. It took too long to get to the target, surprised where he didn't fix that midfight. Maybe he doesn't know any other way to fight? For a rematch, all Sean has to do is improve his punching power and add takedowns to his game plan just to then get up and continue to jab and defend relentlessly. If he manages to incorporate takedowns from that Philly shell position so it doesn't give it away, Izzy will be even more confused and overwhelmed than last Saturday.

I think people aren't aware of what a superstar Strickland actually is. I here the most casual of mma fans geeking out about how real Strickland is. Woke culture is so 2020. The people want real. The future is real.

I don't think Chael has a clue about 95% of guys in the ufc yet chaell says hes begrudgingly the best mind in mma. All that said I'm disappointed af with chael saying izzy no question deserves a rematch Which In my best khabib impression to chael " stupid guy. Your a real stupid guy" Chael isn't the smartest guy in the sport by a country mile. However he is the best p4p#1 when it comes to teaching young fighters how to gain popularity but even more importantly, keeping that new found Fandom.

izzy does not deserve the rematch after fighting backwards the entire time and losing 4 rounds. izzy is 3-2 in his last 5. 1-2 in last 3. only reason dana is pushing for rematch is because sean is difficult to deal with as a champion

I think it's BS that Isreals getting a rematch. Issy never called for a rematch they thought Issy deserved a rematch he never asked for it. Otherwise, they never gave funkmaster a chance to call out for rematch .
