This is by far the best dojo in Japan, it was intense, I learned a lot. I won the competition there, yet these guys I couldn’t get one hand on them. Thank you so much for the training and the teachings🙇🏻‍♂️

Every judoka needs the opportunity to train with higher level players. there is a lot to learn when doing randori with people more skilled than yourself. It can be fun getting tossed around. Great work.

The reason Chadi repeatedly reached out is that his Japanese opponents are putting him in strongly off balanced situations which he clearly was unable to anticipate. I did Judo for 20 years before I fought people who REALLY knew how to do this repeatedly to me. Most players use power and tight grips to throw which is easier to predict and accept. These Japanese players use light quick setups and clean kuzushi, which has a very different affect. I had to re-develop my falling reactions to learn how to take falls from very bad positions, like from leaning back on both heels with the back arched, and from tilted to one corner on one leg. Watch Chadi's face and you'll see his shock at being unbalanced so strongly and thrown suddenly. He's taking heavy unexpected falls. The standard way Judoka learn to take falls does NOT include the scenarios you see on this video. They are strongly breaking his balance and catching him cleanly. His reaction is incorrect, but typical of how non professional judoka would react. If you are serious about Judo, I suggest you allow yourself to be truly off balanced unexpectedly and swept powerfully and rapidly. If you have the skill and courage to do this, I believe you too will discover something new about your ability to take falls like this correctly.

I think he was tensed because he was doing randori with people who are much better than him he was like a white belt in front of them. I have also the same issue when I faced stronger and technicals opponents than me.

@@fluidjudojapan I've been teaching judo for over forty years. How can someone with that skill set receive a black belt. He's embarrassing himself and disrespecting the art of judo by presenting himself with abilities he hasn't yet mastered. My student would never participate in randori practice without the risk of hurting themselves and/or others. I am supporting him by giving him tough love.

Another thing to remember (if you've watched his channel) is that he's also an aikido black belt. If anyone should be proficient at break falls you would think he would be.

@@barrettokarate Wow!!! That's even worse. It's not Chadi's fault that he is wearing black belts. It's the instructors that gave him the permission and confidence to wear them. A sensei promoting an individual has the responsibility to make sure their student has mastered certain skills at each level. How can a black belt not know how to fall properly?
