Lucas and Peyton were ALWAYS meant to be end game, no matter what those sour Brooke fans say!!!

Fair play to whoever asked him this question, there's an obvious fucking reason why he couldn't give a straight answer. I know that Sophia was acting a character, but she is similar to Brooke in a lot of ways and she has even said this herself in interviews and from the way he acted it's clear he knew if he said Brooke that people were going to go off on one.

Why are people still on with him cheating? This was so long ago. Over a decade. They've all grown. Move on people. Imagine a shitty thing you did being thrown in your face year after year. It's ridiculous. Sophia is happy. Chad is happy. Get over it.

This is how I see it Leyton's relationship was an emotional/deep connection and physical attraction/intimacy while Brucas's relationship was physical attraction/intimacy and she would teach him how to have fun.

I guess he is not better than Lucas. Both cheated on their girlfriend !

I see lots of people talking about his private life & how they think it influenced his choice here , cz they think Leyton was endgame only cz of his issues with Sophia , i personally didn't even know what had happened behind the scenes between him & Sophia when i watched the show & still it made perfect sense to me that Luke ended up with Peyton , i just felt from the very first moment they talked to eachother thay they were meant for eachother , the chemistry was insane , they were so similar & they had the same interests cz they were both artists & so they got along easily & understood eachother very well , that's why whenever one of them was going through something they would always run to eachother & talked it out whether they were lovers or bestfriends , they got eachother like crazy ! He never had that bond with Brooke , their relationship was more romantic than anything else , but with Peyton it was a strong friendship + romantic feelings which is the perfect combination for an epic love story , Leyton was meant to be since the very first moment , i felt it with all my heart & i'm so happy they got their happy ending ❤

It's a wonder that Chad and Sophia were able to work together for three years after their divorce. I don't know of many ex-couples that could do that, Fleetwood Mac fell apart because a couple broke up, and it was no good.

No matter what happened between him and sophia in real life, I think Leyton developed more as a couple and had some of the best scenes in the show. I personally didn’t see Brucas ever being endgame.

This is hilarious. He had an interesting answer.

Here’s the thing, Chad chose Sophia (not Brooke) and then he cheated on her. He and Hilario are terrific friends and their characters were soulmates. People really need to learn how to separate reel from real. Even if Chad and Sophia had stayed together (which is highly unlikely since both have said and done things that made it clear that marriage was doomed from the start and not really what either party wanted) Lucas and Peyton were always going to end up together because the Creator/Writer has confirmed it was always meant to be Lucas and Peyton. Brooke wasn’t even a character when that endgame was written.

True, Brooke literally didn't exist in the pilot, and truth be told, I wouldn't be surprised if Brooke's sudden existence in the second episode was like Buffy The Vampire Slayer where she suddenly has a sister in Season Five, only nobody explains it lol. And because that Leyton scene with the tow truck and the Comet is written before Brooke existed/Tara was renamed to Brooke/Sophia was cast, and gives off legit "there's fireworks on ungodly levels going off here" vibes, I stand by Leyton, but I think Brooke is better off without Lucas in that way.

@@Kratos-GodOfWar There's a huge difference between joining a show in Season 5 and joining a show in the second episode of Season 1 like Sophia did. Pilots often have fewer (or sometimes more) cast members than the overall show because it's a proof-of-concept to the network.

I agree with y’all that Leyton was meant to be but their story line in the end was so bad. Lucas went from "i love u Lindsay" to "i hate you peyton" to "i love you peyton" in like a second

It didn’t happen that quickly at all. I don’t like to defend the writing on this show, but it’s clear early on in season 5 that he did not get over Peyton and other characters repeatedly try to tell him that. Also, Lucas never actually hated her.

whether or not he was originally supposed to end up with peyton (which to me, from what i watched of it, it certainly looked that way), their storyline worked so well. for me personally, everything pointed to Leyton being endgame & they were my favourite ship on the show.

@@thewildbruce5612 The reason Chad and Hilarie have chemistry in real life is because he did a Season 5 episode of Dawson's Creek where she made an appearance where she had a scene with him in an episode and that is how they met and he said that when he met Hilarie that she told him that he wasn't cool and he had a thing for her but she didn't feel the same way so she turned him down super quick and that is when he saw a fire in her and that is when he decided that she was going to be his friend and before One Tree Hill premiered in the fall him and Hilarie co-hosted Pepsi Smash in 2003 and Sophia was only supposed to be a guest star for comedy purposes which is why she had to audition three times but then people fell in love with her character so then they decided to add her as a main character.

That was a rumor... I have put the pieces together, Paris Hilton did cheat on Nick Carter while filming House of Wax but it wasn't with Chad, she just told Aaron (Carter) that it was Chad because he was the bigger name at the time (there is a video out there of the guy she did hook up with, whom I'm not naming because I am pretty sure all his fans already know, with her voice). Chad was on set almost all of the time and Paris was only there for like two weeks and only in a few scenes so she had a lot of down time, the same two weeks he was setting up his proposal and proposing to Sophia... which was documented for German MTV... so he literally did not have time to cheat... They didn't work out because they were young and not ready for marriage, they weren't right for each other, only they were in love but it was more like a puppy love. Reality is what broke them up. I can't believe all these year later that people still believe this... Sophia has even said it was because they were young and dumb.

SummerTime the creator of the show states that he created a whole around Lucas and Peyton. So every other storyline was for dramatic effect (I.e Brucas and Jeyton). It was to show that no matter what may come between two destined lovers they will always find their way back to each other.

SummerTime I read the article , but if u pay a good attention , Hilarie said that the creators of the show were trying diffrent pairs & seeing which pair has the best chemistry & when they said that Luke & Brooke were gonna end up together it wasn't a definite decision , they were still testing them & she said that when they saw that the chemistry between Luke & Peyton was indeniable it was no question that that was the endgame , so nothing was really sure from the start they had to try diffrent pairs & see what clicked , & at the end of it was Leyton that felt like the real deal !

@@summertime7651 At the time, it was not the writers/directors who decided but the channel. Sophia was a P.O.S for the producers... nothing more! Peyton/Hilarie was the first female character of the show, Brooke/Sophia a minor character!

Think i just read a comment saying that Chad regretted what he done, from what I have seen of him it didn't look like it and i have never heard of him actually saying that he regretted it. Maybe he has so apologies if i'm wrong..... but then again even if he has said it doesn't make what he done any less hurtful for Soph

They kept the details of their relationship very private, which makes it hard to judge him or her about how they reacted to it based on him being or acting happy and funny. People usually don’t show up to large public events looking depressed or talking about their breakups so we don’t really know if he regretted what he allegedly did!

They was cute as Lucas and Brooke, and as Chad and Sophia, but that's done now. Sophia Bush (Brooke) has a new podcast with Hilarie Burton Morgan (Peyton) and Bethany Joy Lenz (Haley), called Drama Queens. It's pretty cool, they re-watch the show, episode-by-episode, once a week, as was done in 2003, and they're almost done with Season One of One Tree Hill. They've had Lee Norris (Mouth), Antwon Tanner (Skills), Barbara Alyn Woods (Deb), Paul Johansson (Dan), and Moira Kelly (Karen) already on the show. I believe there are not only plans to get the rest of the cast, like Craig Sheffer (Keith), Barry Corbin (Whitey), James Lafferty (Nathan) and maybe even Chad Michael Murray (Lucas), in addition to all those who appear after Season One, and some of the aforementioned people above. Let's just be real here: IF Chad appears at all, assuming he appears, I imagine that Sophia will miss that episode. If he doesn't appear, we all know why, and it's not exclusively because he has better shit to do. Honestly brucas was kinda annoying to me because most of their relationship was just them trying to trust each other. Brooke felt insecure about Peyton and Lucas felt insecure about Chris. Literally the whole beginning part of the relationship was Lucas saying that “he’s the guy for her” and her telling him that they should be friends with benefits. And as soon as she sees him with Rachel she goes and sleeps with Chris. Idk they just seemed really messy to me and they literally had nothing in common. Even while they were together there were always these little moments where Lucas would comfort Peyton when Ellie died or the scenes in the library when Peyton got shot which to me had way more chemistry than Brucas scenes ever had. That’s why Leyton is endgame.

Alice Elledge actually Mark has stated several times that it was always Peyton and Lucas. also Chad is playing the character of Lucas on the show he was asked who HE would pick. Sophia is a real-life individual Brooke is not she's a character big difference. Chad and Sophia couldn't make it work it doesn't mean their characters couldn't. besides if they couldn't be professional and work it out they wouldn't have lasted as long as they did working together on the show. Myself I've always been Peyton and Lucas. fan. Also Hillary and Chad have a close relationship offset.

What you are saying isnt real,when Sophia was asked about that she told the pres that everything that was going on in her personal life didnt affect her work and that they both acted as professionals Although the relationship betweem brooke and lucas wasnt supposed to last for so long it did only because they where together irl and the wanted to shoot more scenes together

Its not true though that there divorce did not impact it one way or the other. Yes mark always said that leyton was endgame and that's what he wanted from day 1 but sophia wasn't in the pilot nobody knew the chemistry that chophia had and that shifted the direction of the show. Mark said publically numerous times that he was always mindful of chophias person relationship and couldn't force them to be romantic together after they divorced in such a bitter way, the truth of the matter is that at that time more fans did like brucas. Chophias chemistry is much stronger than hilarie and chads and even leyton fans know that. I'm not saying for sure brucas would have been endgame if they did not divorce but they wouldn't have been counted out as end game and they certainly wouldn't have continued writing the show acting like brucas never even existed.

Actually Hilary Burton herself confirmed it was Brooke who was supposed to end up with Luke but since Chad was a dickhead and couldn't keep it in his pants, he complicated and ruined the whole OTH story, it would have been just weird if they ended up together.. But at the end, Brooke was way way more awesome than Luke and he didn't deserve her ,unlike Julian. So Peyton and Lucas were same level of lame, they deserved each other for all i care :D

lmao do you have the link of her interview? Hilarie has always supported Leyton, but even if she didn't she wasn't a writer of the show so her opinion didn't really matter. Mark himself said that Lucas and Peyton were meant to be from the beginning, that's why it was possible to make all the parallels between them bc it was all planned. Chad was an asshole, yes, I agree but the actors kept having scenes with each other, they had a lot of scenes in S5 and they also kissed once (season 5 episode 5 flashback), so it was still possible making brucas endgame but Mark couldn't bc leyton was the ship he had in mind from the start. I've never liked Brooke...never...so I respect your opinion of Peyton, even if I disagree obviously!

@@TianaT4 She said she got told that BL/JP were endgame at some point, but never said that the Chophia divorce changed that. Plus with everything that has come out about Mark, there's no way in the world he would have changed directions in order to make things easier for Sophia.

@@samlavin1391 Sophia literally said they only wanted to put her in bras for her wardrobe so she came to set with a turtleneck to prove a point & they changed her wardrobe.. if she came to set & said she didn’t want to play a love interest with her CHEATING husband they most definitely would change it around. they changed it around in the already in season 2 & 3 because brucas had more chemistry, so..

Each relationship taught a lesson but in the end Lucas & Peyton were always meant to be... it was fate from the beginning

No one acts the way Chad does. His body language, microexpressions, pauses, and even the way he articulates things makes you fall in love with any character he plays. I may even watch those movies still and like them. But real.. life .. Chad.., I will never fully support. Sophia all the way. Chad is an idiot. Used to think he pulled a Heath Ledger to try and become the cheater character he played. But, value wise, dude I don't respect him for doing that to Sophia. I will always love her first. Not sorry.

Yea he married her and you see how far that got. Little over a year and after all this this she still has nothing nice to say about him.

Ikr. It's funny cause Sophia acting as if just because he cheated on her the world was supposed to end-- girl bye. The man moved on with a wife and two kids. But I mean even thou, Chad never bash her or had nothing negative to say about her. She's so petty to me. Brucas/Chopia just didn't work - it happens.

Layla S ^^first of all, I never said I'm ok with cheaters. I simply said that Sophia acted as if she has absolutely nothing good to say about Chad. But I'm sure that was not the case before he cheated. I don't know how their relationship was but I doubt it was all bad js. And FYI: Sophia did indeed bashed Chad publicly - she called him her "f**kboy partner" on twitter. Guess the jokes on her since she went ahead and marry the dude smh.

Why would Sophia have anything nice to say about him though? She has only publically commented about him maybe 3 times and honest why wouldn't she? Chad not only cheated on her, they got divorced and not even a year later he was engaged to an extra he met on set who was sophia's friend. Chad has no reason to publicly bash her she never did anything to him.

ALEXANDRA FORESTA Okay, don't hate me for saying this but - I'm pretty sure it was Sophia who stated - her mum told her "if you don't have something nice to say about a person then don't say anything at all". Did he cheated on her : yes . Did he regret doing it: yes Should we condemn him for it: probably not. The fact of the matter is we are all human beings and yes we make mistakes, but in doing so we learn from it, we grow from it and move forward. I'm not saying I support him cheating but I'm saying people tend to do stupid things when your young and naive. Now, in regards to him dating/engagement to Kenzie, that was foul (even thou I doubt Sophia and Kenzie was besties) but please don't pretend as if Sophia didn't date not one but two of Chad's friend ( i.e James and Austin respectively). Everyone to me deserves a second chance to redeem themselves imo. Did you hear of Chad cheating on any of other partners?-idk but I didn't so far.

I agree that the comment she made was a little petty absolutely, but at the same time she did have reason to be upset, she was majorly betrayed by him, but its not as if she goes out of her way to talk about him. As far as her dating 2 of chads friends, James and chad apparently started having a lot of tension with each other before he started dating sophia and Austin came on the show because he was already with sophia him and chad were never friends by the time austin came on the show sophia and him were already together. I wont dispute sophia saying that wasnt great but there are other interviews where she does speak about her marriage positively as a learning experience.

He only ever called Brooke pretty girl though

Lucas and brooke would have ended up together had it not been for Chad cheating on her. They had so much chemistry that they fell for each other in real life. Ultimately I think they put Lucas with Peyton because it was too hard for Sophia and would make the whole story come full circle.

no, litteraly from the first episode of one tree hill it was obvious that peyton and lucas would end up together with the fact that he had this long crush on her also they had an instant connection

Zora Blabla No actually that's not true, they started out with them as their start point but soon realized that their dynamics didn't work, they were just boring. Jake was perfect for Peyton he balanced her. And with Brooke and Lucas they were perfect in season 3 she was all energy and he was the calm one. The same with Hayley and Nathan they complement each other. Lucas and Peyton were the same person and that's why they had to break them up or make drama with either Peyton or Lucas when they were together to make it interesting. And what about the plot, "I'm the guy for you Brooke Davies" at that time they had made their mind that they would end up together. But in the end of the third season they realized how hard it was for Sophia and took another root. Lucas and Brooke were perfect.

Zora Blabla When was I talking about who looked better, I was talking about the connection. There was none, in the first season they had a little but that was because Peyton was another person she was bitchy but then she changed as a character which didn't complement Lucas at all and they realized that Lucas and Brooke worked together. And yea of course Mark can't say the real reason, they even had some hope for them in the beginning of season 4 but there was no return at that point. And again if they wanted them to get back together they wouldn't take the Brooke and Lucas relationship as seriously as they did with him saying that she was the one for him. Lucas and Peyton were cute in the first season but that was it otherwise there was no connection at all. Hayley and Lucas would have worked better, Peyton and Lucas had become such good friends and it was like they were siblings so it just felt weird when they got together in season 4.

okay and what about his long crush on peyton huh? or the books that he wrote about her? and the prediction he made with haley where he says that peyton sawyer will become peyton scott? and peyton's sketches of him? you keep talking about that one sentence he said to brooke? but that's all they had and since you're saying that what about lucas saying 'I want it all with you' it's even cuter

Brucas all the way. Whether the show’s storyline was changed because of their real life breakup we don’t know but it’s common sense that It played a part in it.

It wasn’t. Mark wanted leyton but brucas was the fan favorite so they made them be together but Naley was ALSO fan favorite and mark wanted them to divorce after Haley came back from tour and the network said no so he said fine, if you get naley, I get leyton.

Okayy, I think people need to understand that Brooke and Sophia are NOT the same person ..Sophia is a real person.... Brooke is a character written by people .... this question is about Brooke...not Sophia...no one would dare bring Sophia in such questions considering what he did to her.. Sophia does not deserve to be dragged in these conversations.

the answer is peyton cause Chad cheated on Sophia, otherwise Brooke and Lucas would be endgame on the show, and that breaks my heart cause brooke and luke had so much more chemistry
