I saw THE MUSKA at Home Depot like 15 years ago in NYC. I was too young and shy to fan out on him. But just seeing him, it was like I saw a unicorn. LEGEND. I delivered pizzas in my hometown a long time ago and delivered one to Tony at his house one night. I did get to thank him for everything one time, particularly for at least financially backing the YMCA skatepark (The second iteration), at which my high school had skate PE there, 5 days a week. I was always there. It’s because of him. He told me that when he went to my high school, he’d get beat up by the jocks sometimes because skateboarding was not cool back then. LEGEND.

senior year of highschool in chicago, i qualified to enter the NSA AM FINALS '93 at the encinitas YMCA. (1st iteration). it was crazy, everyone on the course were people i'd only seen in videos and magazines. we came with a midwest crew illinois/wisonsin all sponsored flow by hstreet/evol. we all placed top 25 and it felt like encinitas was a magical place. that fall, i was suddenly at sdsu and entered some sponsored/am contest there. only contest i ever won. went back home to chicago after college but suddenly found myself in encinitas again in 2003. (the 2nd iteration). started skating there all the time and u young fools be there talking about SKATE PE and sheet. blew my mind!! haha.

I love muska❤ az a skater but even more az a person. He's a legend and legends never die. I'm 34 and started back skateboarding after a 22 year hiatus 4 months in to it and I've never looked back. I've got alot of injurys but the love to skate over rides the fear of injury. KZread has helped me alot with my skateboarding to. I wish we had KZread back then the possibility 😂😂.

Dude so much more stuff that he did before the boom box is more iconic than a 5-0 on a handrail. You don't understand what went into the Shortys Hardware Team video, or the stuff he did w Jamie Thomas and Bam while they were on Toy Machine.... pre-2000 musky is better than the thugged out escalade muska.

Casual reminder that Muska is the best. He’s the fashion icon Golden Retriever of skateboarding. Just the best energy ever.

Skateboarding has nothing to do with fashion, you want to be a fashion icon, don’t be one of those vampire like culture vultures that ruined the industry and let big brands like LV in the steal all the rich culture that it used to have

Muska is such a good soul. After so many years of interviews, he’s still always so stoked and supportive.

Love the eps with “my” generation of skaters I looked up to, Muska, Jamie Thomas, Andrew Reynolds,.. it gets me hyped up to go skate and at 31 it gets harder to get out there when it’s not your career but I will forever be a skater and have a board ready to go. Thank you and love all three of you! And Ellis I found you from Viva La Bam when I was a teen, we love you man and your impact on skating! Keep killing it

I love Chad Muska, "no Diddy". One of the most genuinely like-able humans that ever walked the earth. Rad skater, even better human. This put a huge smile on my face.

This guy reminds me of Rodney Mullen, in that they broke the fucking mold after they made him. One of a kind. Great show!

Muska has the best energy.

As a 80’s and 90’s skater who is named Chad and Im also from Lorain County Ohio this was my favorite episode.. Chad Muska is my hometown hero.. my favorite street skater And I always played him on THPS He is doing great things trying to raise money for a local skatepark here in Lorain Ohio I hope to meet him someday.. I remember seeing muska at make a wish years ago. We were in there before the public was let in and watched him interact with the make a wish kids. all can say is it was magical. The attention and grace he gave them truly amazing. Before that I had much respect for his skateboarding abilities but that took it to the next level.

Dude! Muskas enthusiasm is contagious! I love to hear him talk about what he has archieved and what he feels about stuff. It went straight to my inspiration playlist. Go Chad!

Muska needs to make a comic series with himself as the main character in all of his 90s/early2000s steelo glory. He could be a skateboarding superhero who uses an alientech boom box to keep planet earth safe 🤘🤙

age and experience has humbled chad in a good way. hes no longer one of those guys talking about "keeping it real" while playing a character... he is now actually keeping it real in his words and actions and thats the best type of character. good on you man!

This has easily become one of my favorite shows. Absolutely love the guests they get. Muska is a legendary skater and I'm really glad to see that he's thriving and enjoying life.

My first video was TSA life in the fast lane, Muska and Penny stood out and watched that video everyday, really paved my skating. Thank you Muska for everything, I have met you a couple times and nothing but positive and instant family vibes. You gave me incredible advice back then and appreciate it as it changed my perspective on haters and to look forward to keep doing what I was doing.

Chad was a huge influence for me when I was a young teen that couldn’t help but stand out. I was like 11-12 when I found Muska and I immediately found a kindred spirit. Never met you but love ya Chad.

Hearing Chad talk, his spirit and character remind me a lot of 1990s Rock n Roll skateshop owner Mark Rankin, out of San Marcos and Escondido California. His shop resided first in San Marcos, then moved to the Escondido skate park across from San Pasqual highschool. He did a lot for the skateboarding and in-line skate community during the 1990s. Like Chad, he was very talkative, full of life, gratitude and always showed others love and support.

Chad Muska was my favorite skater in THPS3. We looked so up to you two that we made a claymotion movie in 5th grade about a skateevent with Tony and Chad as judges and hypemen. I have just started listening, but I would like to say thank you to you both. Muskas reflections on facebook are inspiring to read. I wish you all the best! Best regards a 32 year old skater from Norway

My favorite thing in the show is whenever Tony and Ellis start poking fun and messing with each other lol you can see the genuine bond between them and I’m sure Tony likes not being treated like he’s on a pedestal (though Hawk is %100 THE Man)

I was never a skater myself, I was BMX, but I played the games and I watched the videos these guys put out. Chad was always so insane on the streets. Loved his bit in Tony Hawk Undergrounds intro. One of the legends for sure. Great seeing these 3 dudes vibe over thier craft from different perspectives.

Muska is a legend ❤❤ Loved him on KOTR. You could see his joy for Skating, even while in pain.

This is the interview we’ve been wanting for years. Met Muska when I was about 13 and it’s true he really does take the time to shake every hand and sign everything. Still got the sticker he signed on my wall 🤘🏼

I met Muska when I was a grom & he was at the height of his popularity down at Mission Beach across from Hamel’s and he skated with us for a bit & was nice as could be to me.

"Look the kids in the eye" - Chad Muska. Eye contact is straight up respect! Such a small gesture that goes a looooooong way in 99% of lifes situations. Fkn Muska, keepin' it real.

Chad had to take a step back but sounds like he has got what it takes for continued success.. did some soul searching and some education.. inspiring stuff

Even as a non skater at the time, when I saw his thps 1 secret tape I knew he was amazing. Love his frontside flips.

also, while i was bummed to see two podcasts of muska at first...i think tony has the ability of actually identifying with famous guests and bringing out the real stories. glad i didn't skip this episode!!

I've been on a board, but never really skated. I've always admired the skill, art and athleticism of skate boarding. I played all the traditional sports (baseball, basketball & football) At 52 y.o. I'm considering attempting to learn what I can w/o breaking all the bones. This podcast is nostalgic and inspiring, thanks.

This conversation is a study in resilience/umbrage/resolution. Skateboarding is some brute-force shit. I loved this. Gratitude.

Never been the big fan of Muska and Mullen mostly because i dont freestyle or street skate but through all the years it was obvious how amazing and game changing they were to not only skateboarding but its culture as a whole. That being said even today if i stumble upon an interview with Muska or Mullen you know youre in for a treat just to listen to these guys talk. Their love an appreciation for riding a skateboard as they explain it paint this picture where you can see come together like a bob ross painting as they explain it. Truly a beautiful thing and because of the passion these guys have not only helps me appreciate skateboarding even more but shows exactly why these guys are so monumental to me in the world of skateboarding.

I’ll forever thank you for the board you gave me in New Jersey back in ‘03

Something ain't right with him. I do like this version of Muska. Innocent Muska. Imagine this dude at a skate soot fighting with security. He'd start talking about rabbits and living in the woods, confusing everyone. Instead of hand cuffs and a fines, it's finna be restraints and Intensive Psychiatric Care Units. I been. And it ain't nothing nice. 0:20
