It was very eye opening in Boyd’s media time after the game, when he said more than once that he only got 8 touches.

Our receiver Corp has the potential to be the best in the nation with the proper coaching.....smh

Asking good questions this season Trey and for that us fans appreciate it.

Agreed and when Jefferson was on the field against western kentucky Chad Morris makes him run the ball ALL THE TIME I mean yeah he is good at running the ball but you have to pass it too if you want to score a lot

Amazing how you described Pittman perfectly. Even commented on his recruiting in passing

Out of the names going around the last time Mike Norvell was the one who impressed me the most. Don’t understand why the ended up hiring someone from that same conference but no where near as successful. I mean if you are going to hire from a smaller conference at least hire the guy who’s actually winning in that conference not the guy who’s best season was just barely over average.

Yeah I could understand that especially since he’s got Memphis in a good place right now hell that whole conference is doing pretty good right now they got 4 teams in the top 25 not too shabby for a little Group of 5 conference.

The dude sucked at Ole Miss. Sure, he's doing well at LSU now, but who wouldn't? Orgeron is a good motivator and pair that with elite recruiting that LSU has and you get the perfect storm. Put him at Arkansas and you'd get the Ole Miss Orgeron.

Bazgoth Ar I think what turned LSU around was the Joe Brady hire and getting him to stay will be huge for them.. he completely turned LSU O around.... LSU still looked like Les Miles LSU but had Ogeron at Coach.. he brings this dude in and they are in the playoffs now. Also just beat Bama at home which no one has done in 4+ yrs... we need steal him as our OC.. thank the Saints and Joe Brady if your an LSU fan.

I still remember how happy Bielama and Brandon Allen were when they got their first SEC win. We knew it would happen eventually because we were losing close games with a chance to win at the end of many of them. It was minor mistakes that caused us to lose. It was one dropped ball or one missed tackle. Or an offside penalty. It wasn't glaring issues across the entire team. Right now it's things that we know can't be fixed in a couple days of practice. But it was obvious that Morris wasn't going to be able to make those changes.

Not sure why I'm going back and watching Trey's blowups over the last Chad Morris season, but I want to make one comment: Thank God that Hunter Yurachek pulled the trigger and fired Chad Morris before the Covid Pandemic hit; because we would be subject to two more seasons of Chad Morris if he hadn't. There's no way this season would have been held against him. So glad Coach Pittman is with us, and I'm looking forward to some upsets this year! Go Hogs!

Five 4th down conversions in the first half has to be some kind of record for an offense. I quit watching at half time so I dont know the final tally was on 4th down conversions in the game but in all my years watching football I've never seen that happen.

No way he will go to Arkansas....LSU will up his pay to keep him, or he takes a HC job at higher profile school. No offense. I'm a ND grad...but I was born in Pine Bluff, Ark. I'm a Razorback. You could take Brian Kelly though, he's reached his ceiling at Notre Dame. He's built a hell of a program, just hasn't been able to get to the next level. We're going to go after bigger fish soon.

sydIRISH I don’t totally disagree with you, as I’m sure he’s probably not even being looked at for the job, but I would say that Arkansas could pay him more as HC than LSU would pay him as a co-coordinator.

One website calls Morris the worst coach in the history of the sec! He didn’t win one sec game!

Seems it has become a trend to sign D1 HFC to a long term contract no matter their record. Why not break the trend and hire a guy with fire in his belly who loves football and agree to a shorter term contract. SEC is extremely tough and Morris took over at a down time, but the Hogs never showed any fight with Morris as head coach. There are Jon Gruden(who genuinely breathes and eats football) type coaches out there who might be unknown at the D1 level, but could take these UA players and make them competitive right away. Not a huge Hog fan but I would love to see them relative again.

Hunter Wilbanks right he’ll get a OC job whenever he’s ready to, what happen to having to prove yourself to get big money, isn’t that what the players in college there for to prove themselves for a big payday on Sundays...I feel the same should be for the coaches

Just to put things into perspective UCA beat Western Kentucky

I know it’s been asked but any thoughts on Barry Lunney’s readiness to stay as HC? In terms of toughness and preparation look at his playing history and coaching history. Look at his products in stellar tight ends. Does he command HC level respect?

I like Mike Norvell. What about Billy Napier at LA-Lafayette? He’s from GA, where his dad was a high school coach. He coached under T Bowden and Dabo Swinney at Clemson. Was an offensive analyst and WR coach under Saban at Alabama for 5 years. He was offensive coordinator at AZ St, before being hired at Lafayette.

Thank God he is gone! I hope it's a lesson learned for the University.. thanks for the great reporting Trey.

I would usually say you have to give the coach at least 3 years. Plus, Beliema left Arkansas in bad shape. However, 2 wins for 2 years is unacceptable. Getting beat by a horrible Miss St team by 30 points at homecoming = unacceptable. Getting beat soundly by cupcakes W KY and San Jose = unacceptable.

Revisiting 8/19/22....What a difference.

Sometimes you have to through the valley to get to the mountain top. This has opened the door to get Pittman Coachand he has got us going in the right direction, WPS!!!

Gators fan here hoping Arkansas can get it together again. Always loved seeing Arkansas doing well and disrupting the Wests BIG 3.

Caesars has Arkansas listed as a 4.5-point favorite over Bye next week.

@@mortysmith216 first of all I love Rick and Morty. Secondly we had Bobby Petrino who had relations with a chick that was working for him. He had to get fired. Not our fault, then we have Bret for 5 years which isn't a long time but he got lazy recruiting and only won four games his last year. Once again not our fault he had to go. And then enter Chad who hasn't beaten a power 5 team lost to San Jose St at home and got annihilated by Western Kentucky 45-19 on senior day with a quarterback starting for them that he ran out of town. You can't survive something like that as a coach. The longer he stayed the worse off we were going to be it was the only choice. We deserve better and so do the players. WPS

Didn't even mention John L Smith. I thought it couldn't get any worse when we had him. But I was wrong. He won 4 games that year. Chad has won 4 in 2.

I think it's time to be reasonable about this whole thing and this is who I think the new staff should consist of. HC: Bobby Petrino OC: Hugh Freeze and Art Briles DC: Tyson Helton(stopped the most explosive offense in college football with CUSA talent) Special teams: Nutt

Also for LSU to have to settle of O. Anyone remember the binder? I really wanna know what O has in that thing. 🤣

At this point I just hope we're able to keep the talent from the 2019 class....

I wonder who the money players (boosters) are? Can we afford the buy outs of the new coach to hire him away from his current school AND pay the new coach? Otherwise, we are looking at hiring, current North Texas head coach for example who is up and coming and does not have a huge buyout.

We do have a few of the top Fortune 500 companies in the world in northwest Arkansas

I wanted chad to work I wish him the best and I do want Memphis coach praying for the hogs and hunter hope the players pull together and be the group to turn it around

Bond in Harrison. As the Nature Boy said, 10 years ago Jim Crockett brought me here because he needed a real dude! This year we need Yuracek to bring us in a real dude. He looks to have done that with Muss. He looks like a real dude. I trust he will in the football staff. You report this with class man. Agree with you on chief. Dude is lost. Kids aren't willing to walk that aisle for those guys because they are disingenuous and lost. Good report man. It is always darkest before dawn. It will be ok. We not have recovered under Chad. He didn't answer questions because he had no answer. The new staff will start it the right direction.

They need to look at Todd Whitten of Tarleton State ( TX ). Can recruit Texas and wont be that expensive. Been a winning coach at D2 for a long time.

Finally

I never seen a guy say all the right things and deliver absolutely nothing like Chad Morris did here. I actually believe we are getting worse by the week.....Defense is lost...afraid of contact...not what you would expect from the "best DC in the country" coached players. Glad hes gone....shouldve never been hired. I betcha Hunter gets us a great HC....he hired Muss so theres that...........WPS!

Now we can finally get in the left line pop the clutch and hammer down all the way to Memphis

Chavis had great defenses at LSU and Tennessee with great players. That's the source of his reputation. He wasn't the answer at A&M either during the Sumlin era. But if he lands at a school with a roster of elite talent, he'll succeed just like every other D.C.

Chad Morris is a great offensive coordinator and recruiter. Should of stayed that way.

Its unfortunate. I had hoped Chad Morris was going to work out and be the guy, when he was hired. But, didn't happen; some would argue things are even worse, in fact. I wish Morris the best elsewhere. All that said, I look forward to going through this search with HawgSports and Trey Biddy. Heres hoping Hunter Yurachek makes a great hire - which I personally have confidence he will. Woo Pig and Go Hogs.

Arkansas Fans will always love Coach Nutt .....i was a Coach Morris fan he could recruit like crazy but for boyd to only have 8 touches in that game is a crime.....

You know I've developed a theory on when we should get rid of a coach at Arkansas. It doesn't matter in which sport either. My theory is that the first time a coach sets any new records in losing like going 2-10 in back-to-back seasons or losing to Western Kentucky who has a conference that has never beat an SEC team. Any new records or statistics of any kind that shed a negative light on our beloved University of Arkansas should be fired immediately with no buy-out. Put that in the next coaches contract. B whatever category or whatever when it's a record for the University of Arkansas in any category that's when he needs to go right then and my theory is held true for your body all the way back you name it

This was seen from 295 miles away, but the real question might be, do the powers that be, at U of Ark, have a plan of who will be the next or are they going to be just now looking. We need one as soon as season is over to try and keep recruits and keep a lot from transferring. Oh well, just another day in Razorback football land, that we fans call, hell.

I remember this calender or something that he had on the wall in our weight room he got from JJ. It was a pic of a group of them in the weight room at the University. We thought that was so awesome to have his dad as our coach. Gave us all a goal to try to achieve. I think there are alot of past players that would fit in well as coaches. Die hard Razorbacks that show passion for the team, school, and state.

Need a motivator

We did lose 7 games by a TD or less so we could have easily went 11-11 so it might not be as bad as 4-18 seems. Hope we get a homerun hire so we don't suffer for years and years.

We need coaches with ties to Arkansas we need to stop letting in state talent go

I take it that the house that Chaddy was renting in will go back to the realtor. Morris' kid can't count on pop's giving him the starting QB spot at wherever he decides to play because ol' Pops will not be head coach at ANY college. Chandler will go to SMU. One gets the feeling that Chandler doesn't want to move away from Mommy. Doesn't matter anyway. Mike Leach will coach at the UA and his offensive will be quite effective with KJ.

The 20190team had the talent to be 7-5, with a few bounces (like Mason Jones' bank shot against Gtech) ... 8-4. They have the talent to be at least 6-6 or, with bad bounces 5-7. I feel sick.

Chad Morris I think is a good oc just not head coach...Mike Norvell or Bobby Petrino, Rich Rod might be to early but we need a coach who dont listen to the outside noise & let them run their own program...

enough of the houston nutt crap. he wasnt the brains behind that offense.

I did want him to stay, until I watched the WKU debacle. It was embarassing watching a team quit in the middle of a game. That did it for me, CM lost the locker room and it's confidence. There's no recovering from that.

Now we got Pittman, 8-4 record, top 25, beat Texas, A&M, and LSU, almost upset Bama, good bowl game coming up. Man, it's hard to believe two years ago, we thought our program was dead. Plus, did you have a crystal ball, when you said Pittman's name here?
