Can we talk about the fact that this show lasted 2 seasons but still had a stronger ship than any other Disney show? The thing about this ship that none of the other shows have is that it gets developed. Chad's crush on Sonny isn't one sided, Sonny has feelings for him too and it doesn't look like she's using him because of his crush on her. They also have AMAZING chemistry. Although I wish in the first half of season 2 before the falling for the falls episode, they had more channy moments.

what i love about them, is that they take this bigshot, conceited hollywood actor and he starts falling for this sweet, down to earth girl who's just started doing what she loves. they're supposed to hate each other because of the rivalry between the two shows, but even in the first season you can see how much he likes her, and she likes him as well. i'm happy now that demi & sterling confirmed that they got back together later ! :)

I have this plot in my head If they did continue channy after season 2. Sonny goes back to wisconsin and goes to school. Lucy is with her. Sonny imagines other people as Chad at some moments and lucy mentions to her that sonny may still have feelings for Chad, but Sonny keep dodging it. Meanwhile, Chad also imagines other people as Sonny as he continuously visits the So random set, at one point I imagine him hugging Grady tightly and then when he realizes its not sonny he pushes him away. When Lucy offers Sonny to see a play. She imagines the guy in the play as Chad, when the guy gets hit by a boulder she imagines him saying "I love you Sonny." Then sonny yells "CHAD! NO! I LO-." but then when the guy comes up she realizes it's not Chad. Then Lucy continues to tell sonny that sonny still has feelings for Chad since she almost said the L word. At one point, Chad is fed up with not seeing Sonny, that he takes a plane to wisconsin. When he goes to her school, Sonny says "I may have actually gone crazy, now the guy over there looks like Chad." then lucy says "I may be going crazy with you, it really does look like Chad." when sonny realizes it's actually chad, Sonny says something like "Quick, if we run, maybe he won't catch us." then Lucy gives her a 'get real and talk to him' look and pushes her to talk to Chad. And i guess that's where they share a kiss and tell each other that they love each other. Then Sonny goes back to being on So random.

As a kid there wasn't a single show out there I cared for as much as I cared for SWAC, like, I have distinct memories of rushing straight out of drama class (which back then I thought was WAY too close to when SWAC aired even though I usually made it home in time) and badgered my dad to drive faster to make sure I didn't miss a new episode. I shipped Channy even before I realized what shipping was, I was hyped for WEEKS when they became a thing, and I cursed the show eternally for ending with them being broken up (and even though I was sympathetic towards Demi's situation, So Random kinda?? Sucked? For me the main draw of the show at time was the fact that I was a fan not only of Demi, but of Channy's arc in particular, and taking out the actual narrative out of the show while still keeping relatively the same cast just,,, didn't work unfortunately) SWAC was probably the most impactful Disney Channel show for me, it honestly ended up influencing me and the person I ended up becoming as I grew up a lot more than I give it credit for considering I haven't watched it in years. Stumbling across this video and seeing that I wasn't blinded by memories (and the fact that I had a major celebrity crush on Sterling Knight not only because of SWAC but also because I adored Starstruck) of just how good this show, the acting, and the genuine chemistry of Channy kinda just. Made me decide to go rewatch this show I loved so much as a kid, so thank you for that!

yes!!! i totally feel you on that! sonny with a chance always moved me in a way that no other disney channel show did. i would have done anything for a season 2, but i’m so grateful demi decided to get the help they needed so it’s okay. i rewatch it every so often (once a year at least) and it brings me joy every single time 🥰

The cast was just really good. I miss Sonny with A Chance. My fave is Tawni because she can be unexpectedly hilarious. The whole show, the cast even their manager at the studio and the teacher. My entirely childhood, truly.
