Chad Cooke Band - Oil Man (Official Audio)

Музыка

Song for the guys who still work in the oil fields, and especially the ones who are laid off right now. I worked it with some great guys for over 2 years and could not have more respect for the industry, the men who work it, and the families they support. Oil Man - Chad Cooke Band
There ain't a darker night than the ones I've seen
When you're too damn tired to even dream
But you come alive when the doghouse screams
Oh the oil field's dark as money is green
There ain't a headache like the ones that come
Between a two week hitch and a seven day run
Blood, sweat, spit and a filthy tongue
Oh the oil field hurts like a snake bite stung
(Chorus)
So I'll send a card for Christmas and birthdays missed
And I’ll sign the papers for the woman that I couldn’t kiss
And I'll take the blame if I don't make the good Lord's list
But when I die I hope they know it was all for them
Cause I'd do it all over again
There ain’t nothing in the world like earning these stripes
Then getting put out of work when the price ain’t right
Yeah I left my soul, my pain, and my strife
Oh the oil field holes are filled with my life
(Repeat Chorus)
Well this hard hat and steel toes on my feet
Built the roughneck man that I’ll always be
Yeah and I did it all for my family
Oh rig up, rig down, this patch just might bury me

Im currently 19, my brother derek, (my oldest) brother, had offered me a job in the oilfeild. He told me $1400 a week and i was ready to go. First real job out of highschool. We drilled 12 holes together. I was that fresh worm breaking out when he showed this song to me. He recently commited scuicide. We were bolth waiting to be called back to work to “make that pay and keep that bit spinnin to the right” as hed say. I miss that guy alot. Im supposed to be back in the feilds soon. But they will never be the same again. Gunna miss my brother. Throwin chain across pipe while he would scream get on them tongs worm! Gunna miss the screamin and yellin on that damn 1974 skytop rig. We fought alot but we took care of one another no matter what. Till we meet again...RIP Derek M Johnson . 1990-2017. Hope u watch over me out there brother

Travis Barrette, man guy I never read these comments, but I scrolled down witha flip of my thumb and this is the one i read!. Sorry for your loss guy, he had his reasons, but left you to push on. The memories, the tough love he showed you on that deck, the hootin and hollerin, the cursin, thats what will keep you moving. Maybe he wanted you to take his place an swing chains, but just know his will be on you back when you need him. He will be pushing drivin you. I lost a nephew in a car accident a few yrs back... that boy was a work horse, strong as the come. I made a few calls out to the oil fields to get him hired. On company called him in, he filled out paper work and was waiting for the call. When he was killed. The toughest call i had to make was to the company to tell them to scrtach him off their list. To this day it hurts me.. i miss that boy! Stive on man. Again sorry for your loss.

So I'm a high school bull rider and I want to pursue it professionally but i need a way to pay the bills while I'm starting out or if I'm recovering, so I was debating, I'm a good arc welder and a hard worker so I want to know should I go out into the oil field industry, or should I become a pipeline welder, I'm willing to deal with natures elements, stress, and pain with either one, I'm just wanting to know which one will I be rewarded more with and which would be better suit for my situation. Thanks
