ANormalName the budget focused on the acting, music and costumes. Unfortunately, the fighting scenes and CGI weren’t good enough.

Fun Fact: This song applies to Xiao Zhan (Wei Ying) in real life too.... He faced many hardships before he could become successful... His own company didn't believe in him.. What he achieved he achieved on his own.... Truly a SURVIVOR...

It is really heartbreaking that something like that happened to him. I mean how is it his fault, why should he the one to get treated that way. He was not directly involved and his company should have protected him. I hope he gets through it and regains an even higher position than before because he worked hard and deserves it.

I wonder if you've heard about the scandal his fans dragged him into a month ago. It is so silly - basically, Untamed got too big and people started fighting with each other over his portrayal in a fanfiction. It escalated so much, that Chinese government banned fanfic webpage Ao3 in the country and some people tried to commit suicide. And Xiao Zhan's company basically apologized for it, EVEN THOUGH this is literally not theirs NOR his fault. It makes so mad - I really hope, he won't have problems from it in his further career, because he's so talented and such a kind person. I hope he's alright. I'm emotional again...

Dedere Keehl It was saboteurs posing as fans who caused havoc. The alliance of 227 used threat of suicide as one of their strategies to blame XZ and his fans. The latest news is XZ and his studio have hired lawyers go after the cyber bullies or their months of slander,defamation and lies.

Wei Ying's story is so sad honestly... He was curious and payed a high price to save his brother's future. He turned to demonic cultivation to survive the burial grounds and everyone was fine with it until the Wen's were defeated. When they had no use for him anymore they made him the next villain and he eventually lost some sanity to the darkness and only Lan Zhan was trying to help him. It went so far he accepted death. I'm so thankful that he got another chance in life and that he finally realized Lan Zhan is the one he can rely on even if he scolds him from time to time.

Everytime I think of Untamed I think of how sad his story is, because no matter how good he was or how much good he did, they always saw him as the villain.

Thanks for saying that. I was really mad seeing how all turn their backs when the good time comes, and they forget how he helps so much for finish the war. And I was sad for Wei Wuxian because he has a good heart and a very solid principles and always get hurt.

The scene where he gets shot and throws the arrow back is my favourite scene. And this man can act like uh oh boy made me cry the first time I watched the drama.

Xiao Zhan's potential is through the roof, he's just so talented! I can't imagine anyone else EVER being able to pull off the role of Wei Ying as good as he did.

U r correct.. he fits in it perfectly.. the playfulness, wei ying's empathy and his devil form... He depicted everything clearly to the extent that its impossible to even think abt anyone else in that role

Xiao Chan's acting as Yiling patriarch was UNBELIEVABLE... when he is acting serious and cold while the whole time before he was the smiley playful baby. Suddenly his eyes get cold and that transition so fast... I have never seen someone act so beautifully it gave me chills.

This is the best edit ever , it deserves more views , ppl should know what he has gone through , what he became , what he sworn not to be , but situation changes. Life fucks up. People make make mistakes. He couldn't control what he had so he jumped off the cliff. But someone was there, wh still wanted him, who still believed in him, who knew the real him.

Thank you for all these words! I think Wei Ying is one of the strongest characters ever. So much pain, betrayal, losing of people he loved, but he still stuck to his own truth until the very end. And yeah, he lost control because it was really impossible to fix everything what happened before.

i like it when the main character is funny and crazy but in a stade of his live his personality change and had breakdown and stand up more stronger again

Best chinese drama ever! From costume to character. There aren’t many live action dram live up to both novel and anime. This is one of the few. I strongly encourage anyone to watch this. One of the highest watched drama internationally

Hands down Xiao Zhan was/is the best thing about Untamed. Had to be, he played the key role & he did the role justice. Couldn't have played any better by anyone. I pray for this man's bright future.

I thought I ashes of love made me cry enough but I didn't knew The Untamed was waiting for me and frankly I wasn't ready 😭😭😭

Xiao Zhan you really did justice to the Wei Ying character!! Both the mischievous cute side and the dark sexy side , you played it perfectly!! Seriously every second of this drama was worth watching. I read the novel first and wasn't expecting much from the drama to perfectly portray the complex character of the novel version of Wei Wuxian but Damn!! I was sooo wrong!! The way Xiao Zhan was through out the whole drama it was like he embraced Wei Ying's struggles, hardships as his own to create the PERFECT Yiling Patriarch, Wei Wuxian, Wei Ying. I admire and respect you from the bottom of my heart. Thank You so much for all of your efforts you have put to deliver such a performance.

I was very sceptical regarding the fact that no human can actually portray Wei Wuxian's character... But Xiao Zhan proved me wrong....He did an exceptional job....

People thinks his bad,But looking at him now he is a survivor in real life. Xiao Zhan i love him so much so a the wei wuxian i knew!

This was so utterly _fantastic_ that I had to watch it twice just to come to the conclusion that, yes, it really is that good. The beat of the music was timed perfectly with the scenes, and the intensity of the song went wonderfully with the intensity of the video. Absolutely stunning, I love it.

My god. With this whole absolute *trashfire* going on right now with Ao3 and the hate, we need this more than ever. All i wish is for Xiao Zhan to be surrounded by his family and loved ones who love and support him in a time that we can’t. When this ends, i really *really* hope he comes out stronger and bigger than ever- because this is far from the end for him. The haters may be loud, but the fans outnumber them by the thousands. Go ahead, we’ll prove that love is greater. 😘

I've watched a lot of Untamed videos, most of them ranging from good to outstanding but this one, more than any I've seen, highlights just how incredible Xiao Zhan's performance was.

What I like most about wuxian is that he is neither perfect person nor a hero like main leads of other dramas. But he is a charming character with his personality and attitude, which makes Wuxian and the drama extraordinary.

Both Wei ying and Xiao Zhan are survivors. XZ brought that character in to life. The Untamed is one of the best live action drama I've ever watched.

This is a masterpiece, you captured the essence of Wei Wuxian perfectly, his amazing strength and sensibility, his suffering and emotions. Stunning!

His acting is no joke

His performance makes me want to watch ALL the shows he is in because he is such a phenomenal and versatile actor. I have watched Doulou Continent and am waiting for Oath of Love and The Longest Promise to come out.

Dude When Wei was on the edge of the cliff and Lan was trying to bring him up. Wei pulled away from LAN cause he didn't want him to die. That is true love.

this video shows how great he was yes but we forget that he was extremely majestic, completely mesmerizing and down right amazingly alluring..my heart!

This drama was breathtaking and heartbreaking. A masterpiece. Wei Ying’s story is just frustrating and sad. The clans make me so mad honestly.

When I watched this video the first time I hadn't seen the show yet. I was convinced this was going to be a show about the protagonist's tragic fall into villainy. I was so sure it'd end with him dying a second time in a moment of redemption. Thank god that's not what happened lol.
