Of course this animal is small and you think you can force it. Better show empathy and the animal will slowly trust and love you. Learn about “non-verbal communication” and you will better understand the dog and his fear. For me it seems you always show a threatening behaviour towards dog. Usually dog trainer give dog a small snack to willingly comply.
