They make those noises all the time. I couldn’t stand it! Do they do that in the wild? I mean, how could they? Predators would hear.

Nothing adorable about that sound. It has a frequency that feels like damaging ears. I think these screems are unnatural. As unnatural as holding wild animals in the house. I dont think this species would have survived until these days, if they would make such wall passing sounds.

@@chre3611 almost all baby animals make a ton of noise. babies are vulnerable, that's just how it is. the animals here aren't wild animals since they were raised inside for their entire life. they wouldn't survive in the wild, it's not much different from having any other pet

Something about seeing Mari deliver brought me to tears, it's so moving to see a sweet little creature like that try her best and give birth to such beautiful children. Bless her and her babies.

Breeding is evil and wrong: if humans had the power, we should use it to castrate all animals and prevent all births. Prevent all births = prevent all suffering + all future deaths. Go Antinatalist!

I agree! Some ppl & animals aren’t very vocal & some are! But I know what it’s like to try to push a “square peg out of a small round hole” for example, & it’s no fun!!! So very thankful that the little babies & moma made it through this birthing process! Congratulations !!🥰😍♥️

Poor baby she had a ruff 💔 time. I felt her pain through her pushing hard as she could. I just wanted to pet her tell her good momma you will be ok. Bless her little heart going through such pain.

Oh, my heart💔 when watching the tiniest girl struggling. So happy to see Mari accept her back and that she was able to suckle her mama’s milk. My cat is very concerned as I am watching this, I think the otter babies’ cries must sound a little like a kitten.

How wonderfully lucky are you to have such a gift. You did very well helping the small one. Please be sure they go to knowledgeable homes. I don’t know how many Asian small clawed otters there are there, so perhaps watch to prevent potential inbreeding. You did great! And so did Mari. ☺️

Animals don't feel labor pains like human females. Otters always scream when they worried.

Breaks my heart watching Mari put up with those labor pains aka Contractions that she could of easily died of a pain induced heart attack But mother nature has a trick up sleeve to protect her precious cargo And Mari earned it. Mari is a good momma. I've watched other otter videos as well and they strike me as being very intelligent, affectionate and playful. Watching this one I actually thought it might be fun and rewarding to have one as a pet. I know there's got to be a down side. There is with ever pet. Mari is so mellow and her babies are so cute!

@@haiquoc2013 they usually matchmade the female otters with male otters from other places. So the father otters don't live with them. But towa's partner was with her during the birth. Sorry, i don't get notifs when people comment or mention me, so it took aometimes for me to respond.

Bravo, you did very well to feed the weaker baby and get her strong enough to be accepted by her mummy. I pray she survived. Four precious little miracles - Mama did great!

>>"I pray [the weaker baby] survived." She did. Her name is Komari (literally: "small Mari") and she ended up being the first of the 4 to open her eyes. It's very unusual for the runt of a litter to be born first. Usually they come out last.

Mari, what a pretty name, did a wonderful job the first few days as a mommy, as did the surrogate, human, parents! Four seems like a lot of babies for a tiny body like little Ms. Mari to have, but they all survived. YAY! She was EXHAUSTED! POOR LITTLE THING. Glad she made it through the pregnancy and birthing. I cried when she was in labor and birthing. Dear heart.
