me too, specially because I used to find this one a lot more easier then Castle of Illusion, and also co-op was wonderful.

Things that make World better than Castle: - password feature! (Something that was missing from Castle) - Multiplayer mode with Donald Duck - Donald Duck and Multiplayer exclusive levels - Mickey sprite is very accurate to the cartoon - ease of play

This is one of my all-time favorite Genesis games! Like, it's in my top 5. My brother and I would rent this constantly (I was Mickey he was Donald). We gravitated toward it's co-op oriented game play. Very few games back then, which would not only change the game play based on how you chose to play it, but awarded gamers who chose to play co-op with a unique experience (Toejam & Earl being another good example). We loved the co-op feel so much, that it took us months to realize that there were 3 unique games hidden within World of Illusion. When we learned that, it elevated this game to new heights of awesomeness! I really wish that the "Illusion" series had continued. Sega really knew how to treat a license with dignity and integrity (as did Capcom). However, I never felt the Capcom Disney games for the SNES were as good as Sega's, or even their NES titles. There's something about the attention to detail in the Sega titles (the sprites, the idle animations, the animation, the game play, the sense of magic and wonder) was, in my opinion, superior to Capcom's 16-Bit efforts. There was something more "Disney" about the Sega Disney games, especially in terms of animation. This game, as all Sega Disney games, is a masterpiece, and worthy of the respect and attention that the Capcom Disney games have enjoyed.

Holy crap! This was my favourite game growing up. So much nostalgia.

This was my favorite of the two Genesis/Mega Drive Illusion games. I remember playing it either solo or with my brother on weekends as a kid. This and Duck Tales will always be my favorite Disney games.

I got a ton of non working cartridges from a coworker. He was going to throw them out and i asked if i could have them after very light cleaning of the contacts i got most of them working. I got this game quack shot rocket knight and sparkster also some sports games. :) xD

this game is a true masterpiece and absolutely deserves a hd remake along with quickshot and alladin.

"like a story book that's been twisted in some way" - a perfect description for this game. its magical.

This is actually one of my favorite games of all time & I’m not even in to Platformers. This game was so damn good in fact I am going to buy it again since it’s lost somewhere at my parents house in some box somewhere. This game is beyond excellent! I suggest it for any gamer

When I was young, my sister and I went to the family summer home where we got to play games on my cousin's Sega Genesis. One of those games was "World of Illusion," and it was a really good game with colorful graphics, excellent music, and creative level design.

Just got this game complete for 10 bucks. I can't believe I never played it as a kid, considering I lived on the Genesis. Excited to try it out with my little brother!

Derrick, you guys should do more of those game play throughs like you did with TMNT and Battletoads.

years before the Internet trolls, there was the Spider boss in World of Illusion xD

The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse was a great game for Super NES. I didn´t know about World of Illusions for Sega Genesis. It looks very good. I will look for it

I owned Sonic games. My cousin owned Mario games. We played both endlessly, sure, but not gonna lie, 6 year old me played this game more than anything else. Such an underrated masterpiece.

Hey I don't kno if I was just trippin but I didn't see u running in this review , u kno that u can run in this game too right ? Lol not trying to question ur gaming skills but i just didn't notice u doing it in the game . I think u hold the c button on the genesis controller .

I miss these days

As a kid this was awesome. The imagination of the levels was fun. And the music.

Im about to beat the final level tomorrow with my 6yr old nephew. I have the original cartridge and we love it.

Well I mean...we also had Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion as well, but yeah...didn't really do much for people. A mere shadow of the classics.

Best illusion game out of the entire series. I wish sega would've continue the series on the saturn and dreamcast. Even modern 2D illusion one day.

Has this game been ported to any other system apart from the Genesis? It looks a lot of fun but I don't have the system.

the disney games you mentioned are great but I think the best is not really castle of illusion but a tie between mickey mania and epic mickey. snes and genesis had awesome disney games that compete with mario and sonic in terms of quality (the disney 16 bit games had much better animations than mario and sonic). heck just look at aladdin and compare it to mario world.

The best part of the game is Co Op, i use to play it with my brother, with me always being Donald. we have to work together to solve puzzles and help each other. wish there are more games like that :D

You obviously have never played the ones on game gear like Land of Illusion or Legend of Illusion those are pretty dope

World of Fantasy: Starring Kingdom Hearts really, game was amazing from a very very beginning

I played the ungodly fuck out of this game when I was a kid. Fantastic game! =)

My mom payed like 55-60 bucks for this game and I hated it but ended up having countless hours of fun with friends

Aladdin was also a much better game for the Sega Genesis.

Then what about the genesis vs super famicom then. The super famicom had games that had blood (castlevania 4 for example, with nude statues) and hell, you fight god based off the old testament in shin megami tensei 2. Super metroid and f zero showed some of that "blast processing" and there's more games that do. The audio was in stereo unlike the genesis's mono. The super fx chip built in cartridges helped to produce 3d polygons without an extra device like the sega cd. The controller's button layout becomes an early example for future controllers like introducing shoulder buttons and the four button placement with abxy..............but I love both consoles anyways so whatever.

+Cristian Duran I have a semi love(nostalgia if anything)/hate(more so) relationship with the sega genesis.....biggest gaming regret was getting it over the snes during it's time, although the Genny had a 2 year start since it was released towards the end of 89'. the SNES was mind blowing, the genesis? not so much......At first, i thought the genesis "was kind of cool, but it didn't blow me away like the NES did before hand OR the upcoming SNES.....Sure, it had it's share of gems, but those gems could not compete with the likes of the jaw dropping Super Mario World, ZELDA ALTTP, super Metroid, mega man X, Mario Paint, Mario kart, f-zero, the list goes on and on. Thankfully I played the SNES religiously at my friends house, but it's still not the same as owning one for yourself. Still pisses me off that I didn't trade in my genesis and get an SNES during it's 5 or so year run.....What was I thinking!? :PTime to toss out the genesis!

I always thought Land of Illusion was the best, although all of the Illusion games are good. Even Power of Illusion is decent if you can ignore the crappy stylus stuff.

SNES had a lot of good Disney games to.

+uglypinkmoose Goof Trop, Mickey Mouse's magical quest, Mickey Mouses Circus Mystery ect.Honestly, Castle of illusion for ex doesn't hold up in comparison to magical quest these days, and this is coming from somebody who owned the genesis back in it's hay day. :P

Nintendon't. * (*referring to the original NES) Chapter 3: Speed Genesis does blast processing. Nintendon't. Chapter 4: Audio Genesis does headphone jack. Nintendon't. Chapter 5: Game Genie Genesis does Game Genie. Nintendon't. * (*they sued the makers of Game Genie) Chapter 6: Censorship Genesis does mature rated games that are controversial. Nintendon't refuses to license a game like Night Trap on their console. They even censored the original Mortal Kombat. Chapter 7: Final Verdict Genesis wins. Nintendon't.

Nintendo Fanboy! Get a real console like the PCE.
