    I love how the woman who adopted the girl didn't keep her in the dark that she was her mother and told her who was her real mother.... and I love how the little girl was understanding about her own mother's circumstances and didn't blame her for anything 🥺💜

    @@fer_nanda4509 Must you be so judgemental? How do you know that your natural mother doesn't love you? How can you judge a person without knowing much about the person you are judging? Have you ever tried to see her or talk to her? Do you know how many adopted children are stolen from their birth families? Do you know how many women are forced into giving up their babies for adoption? Do you know how many adoptive families murder birth mothers to get hold of a child? I love the fact that they showed the biological mother of the child to be somebody to be sympathize with. Not all parents who give up their children for adoption are evil and just don’t want to take care of their kids. It really depends on the situation sometimes.

    Uhm, I’d say the vast majority who place a child for adoption aren’t evil. the worst kinds of people often KEEP their kids because they’re selfish and the child suffers or ends up removed.

    Thank you Alexandria! Great point, every situation is different, and @WakeupGrandOwl is right in that they are not evil. You are absolutely right though, a lot of times in films/TV, they are portrayed that way or just aren't shown at all. One of my main goals for the film was to include the biological mother in the story and give her an equal role since that relationship is often omitted, yet so important in the context of adoption. Thanks so much for your comments and thank you both for watching!

    I love how this actually shows an adoptive parent not vilifying the bio parent. I have a lot in common with the person who gave birth to me. In my adoptive family, I was essentially a replacement for a dead child from four years before I was born. I wish my adoptive parents would have encouraged me more to find my bio parents. It was supposed to be an open adoption... No one talks about the predatory religious adoption agencies which take advantage of pregnant people who, provided with resources, would be more than capable of loving their baby and giving them what they need. Adoption is a good thing if done right, as it seems in this short, but if done wrong, or if done with selfish intentions, the child can end up broken. Horribly, horribly broken. I'm 21 and realized just last week that I can't live up to a child who never had the chance to live because of course someone's potential is, to an extent, the most perfect version of themselves. And how can you live up to someone who doesn't exist, and therefore who's entire person can change at the drop of a hat if expectations on you suddenly change?

  • @alycevest2679

    @alycevest2679

    2 жыл бұрын

    Absolutely, there’s no reason to vilify anyone in the adoption process. It’s a delicate process and you’re right, when it’s done right, can provide beautiful results. But must be handled with care. I’m really sorry to hear that you are struggling with your adoption journey. It can be hard to have thoughts like that where you compare yourself to someone else. As an adopted person, i can understand that. As I mentioned in another comment, one of my favorite quotes from Kung Fu Panda 2 is, “Your story may not have such a happy beginning, but that doesn’t make you who you are. It is the rest of your story, who you choose to be.” I hope it can bring you some comfort. There is no one else in the world like you. You were put on this earth for a reason, and the world is a much better place with you in it. So live for yourself, create your own beautiful story, and try not to worry so much about what could have been. You are here and that’s all that matters. Wishing you all the best ❤️

    I am absolutely in love with the part where she said “when we were *both* ready”. My Aunt and Uncle adopted my cousin Matthew and he is an absolute joy. They tried fostering and then adopting other children, but for some reason or another it never was able to work out. But we still have Matthew. I remember each time that an adoption fell through, it was really tough on them so they decided to just take a break and enjoy their time with Matthew, who I could gush on about for forever❤️❤️❤️❤️. But this line really resonated with me because an adoption doesn’t just affect the child, it affects the whole family. And it’s okay if the adoptive parent isn’t ready to disclose some things or if they want to wait a little bit before telling the adopted child that they’re adopted. Idk I just feel like we almost always see adoption from the child’s perspective and not the adoptive parents perspective.

    this is really uplifting the adoptive mother was always mindful of the little girl's origins and knew that it was in her best interst to know her birth mothers story,so that she could understand that she came into this world as loved as when she was adopted. many adoptive parents will keep this infor from children,either as a misgauided attempt to protect them,or enxiety that the child wont see them in the same light after knowing. i personally think its better to tell kids young or not at all...the longer you wait...the harder it can be for a person to grasp and accept this fact.. cause i imagine it would be a weird feeling finding out something like that as an adult. because this is an unfotunete truth espeically in countries outside of the US ,where hardships force poeple to make very difficult decisions...giving up a child for thier own sake os one of the most noble things a parent can do...not knowing if the child will ever know or understand...risking perminant estrangent and not knowing thier future...all in favor of just the chance that child will lead a better life..

    I literally cried 🥲🥹. Adopted kids with parents who are angels are very lucky. I am also adopted,from Colombia and I am so lucky I've been adopted. My biological mother wrote a letter with the reasons why she wanted me to get adopted and how much she loves me. I haven't seen her and don't know if I ever going to see her, but I will try to find her someday and never forget her. This video gives my point of two kinds of love so much clearer.

    This would have been a nice childhood but i never had one. Was put with à horrible family. Only if you really can’t keep your Child with you, the inconditionnel love of biological parents is the most important. Or be lucky and find à family like this mother in this video who gives all of her love. Wonderful video Ps: people with the same background as me. That you may be strong and have a lots of love

    I’m sorry to hear that. One of my favorite quotes from Kung Fu Panda 2 is: “Your story may not have a happy beginning, but that doesn’t make you who you are. It is the rest of your story, who you choose to be.” I think it’s a very comforting message. Hope it brings you some comfort too ❤️

    This is how adoption should be. It should be dealt with using maturity, emotions and practicality. Putting forward the exact scenario the child is in without making him/her feel like their life is complicated or different, implying it is not 'normal'. This way, they feel like the adoptive parents are their new safe space but they will always have their blood, lineage and ancestry to fall back on, without making any one party the enemy
