I used to work in the medical field and Cetaphil has limited ingredients because it's designed for people with very sensitive skin. People with certain diseases or after a surgery, etc. will have overly sensitive skin and Cetaphil is used by patients fairly often as an over the counter cleanser (for face or body). This is why Cetaphil's ingredient list is "boring".

yeah! cetaphil might not have those ‘cool’ ingredients like Cerave but its just a cleanser like the point of it is to clean your face without stripping and it doesn’t do that!

Cetaphil cleanser has a high ph level which isn't really ideal for a cleanser, so if you're planning to buy one, then don't. Look for a gentler one and do some research.

Their packaging is so similar I thought they were the same thing

I just switched to cerave and I’m loving it! I have extremely dry sensitive skin, especially during the winter in WI and have always miserable! I also have eczema and get rashes from so many products! The cerave lightweight lotion and cleanser has been a game changer, cleansing my face feels almost like a moisturizer and through the entire day my face feels fresh and stays hydrated, lotion alone just doesn’t do it for me unfortunately so this has been helpful! Love it so much!

I'm so happy u commented I have sensitive skin so I will ask dermatologist if it's safe for me to use.sounds heavily to have a cleanser that moisturises as well as cleansing that's what I need cause my skin is always feels blah even after using cetaphil gentle cleanser. If ur skin feels still slightly dry after lotion rather use a cream cause lotions are often too light for dry skin types but I'm glad u found something which works for u it's satisfying 😌

Honestly, skincare is subjective. I wanted to like the CeraVe lotion but hated it. It made my skin super oily, as though I applied a sunscreen. On the other hand, cetaPhil lotion was more of a watery consistency and I stuck by it and it’s simply amazing. Do your research, try the products and stick by what suits your skin the best! Cheers!🎉

Cetaphil has two advantages for me. 1. Price Point If you're on a really tight budget and just need something for sensitive skin, Cetaphil can sometimes save you a few dollars and are more likely to have generics that closely replicate the ingredient list. 2. Availability Both Cetaphil and CeraVe products are highly available at drug and grocery stores in the US. However, a full range of CeraVe products can be harder to find in stores where you could otherwise buy Cetaphil. In general though, if you can find it, afford it, and don't react to the formula, CeraVe is the better option.

I can't help but to comment from my experience. I have supremely allergy-prone skin, and I am allergic to every single cleanser product on the market - I am allergic to the ingredients that mix everything together and ensure a smooth consistency. With that said, the only cleanser-type product I can kind of us is the Cetaphil cleanser. The last 3 ingredients I am still allergic to so I try to use a small amount and wash off really quickly. The Cerave cleansers have a lot more ingredients I'm allergic to, so I wouldn't try them. I hope this helps for anyone with allergy-prone skin and has had major issues with all cleansers out there.

CeraVe makes my face so dry and burny feeling. The SPF lotion literally leaves my skin white and tacky. I have had great results with Cetaphil. Great video!

CeraVe's hydrating cleanser SAVED my skin. All other hydrating cleansers had so much fragrance and alcohol, it just didn't work. I've found my holy grail.

SAME. I have spent every winter of my life with dry red bumpy cheeks and nothing worked to calm and hydrate my skin until I started using the CeraVe. I also love all of the moisturizers. The last two winters my cheeks are clear and my skin looks dewy. I stupidly tried to be fancy and add Glossier priming moisturizer instead of the Cera VE AM and the redness came right back.

When I use it it doesn’t like make bubbles or suds up like my other cleanser and I don’t feel like it cleans me as much as my vanicream Sensative skin one , does this happen to anybody else ?

I don’t know if its any help but when looking for new products I always put them though this cosmetic analyser (www.skincarisma.com/ingredient-analyzer) it points out benefits of specific products like Niacinamide, tells you the benefits to certain skin types, identifies potentially harmful/irritating ingredients . It’s easy to use just find the product online and copy and paste the ingredient list into it.

me personally i used Cetaphil for years but days after switching to the kale green tea and spinach youth to the people cleanser (the green one behind him) my acne and dry skin simply disappeared. i definitely recommend that cleanser because Cetaphil FOR ME was overly stripping and extremely sensitizing so THANK YOU HYRAM FOR THAT SUGGESTION

And Cetaphil claims it doesn't irritate our eyes but irritate the shit out of my eyes, since day 1 I used the product Update: after using the some by mi miracle series which includes their acne facial cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer I started shedding my skin a lot, and I think it turned my skin to the sensitive skin type too so I went back to using cetaphil and surprisingly it didnt sting my eyes anymore and I started to like the cleanser more as it wasnt as stripping as before due to the sls in the old formula. Lord I have no idea what's happening

Cerave has saved my face.. i’ve been using it religiously for a year now and so happy with all of their products

so basically if you have clogged pores + combination skin but leaning more towards dry - the ultimate combination would be the 1)cerave foam cleanser 2) cerave moisturiser followed by 3) cerave 30spf suncreen (although for the sunscreen it should be best to skip on cerave since its a chemical sunscreen, theres better sunscreens out there that arent chemical ones.)

I couldn't agree with you more about the Ceravae products. Stumbled across the moisturising cream after trying every other drugstore product for my very sore hands. It is just amazing and I recommend it to everyone. Only problem is that here in Australia the brand is only available in 1 chemist chain ( definitely can't get it in Target ! ) and the range is limited. Wish it had greater exposure here as many people only get told about Cetaphil when they have problem skin. Thanks from Perth Australia

Alex Saakyan here are my tips, maybe they could be helpful: 1. Don't shower with hot water, go for lukewarm water (much gentler on your skin). 2. Exfoliate regulary, this removes build up of dead skin cells off your body skin. I personally use a bathing glove that has some texture. Don't be too harsh when you exfoliate! 3. I found moisturizing my body skin REALLY helpful, my skin looks & feel hydrated and looks supple. 4. Go for gentle shower gels/body wash! 5. Sometimes I do breakout on my chest. I found that using my exfoliating toner there really helpful. So when I'm doing my skincare routine, I would use toner on my chest also.

I’ve used cereve products for years, i’m black cereve made my skin feel dry. Cetaphil really made my skin look moisturized and more hydrated. Both are great products however cetaphil just works better for me.

My insane CeraVe experience... So I watched Hyram for 2 hours straight and I went to Target and bought the CeraVe Foaming cleanser and moisturizing cream. I used it immediately at home after I bought them at about 2pm, the cleanser felt gentle and non stripping and it did almost nothing, but I thought I’d give it a couple more chances and used it at night while showering. It still felt very gentle but after I gone out of the shower and dried my face, there was white-ish stuff coming out of my nose, I wiped them away with my fingers and it felt weird and oily. Those were my freaking blackheads!!! I got rid of half of my blackheads the first day and the rest on the third. So I recommend CeraVe to literally everyone now, thank you so much Hyram!!!

I love Paula's Choice especially since you can get samples of some of their products (not free but maybe like $1)

9:18 Grapeseed oil actually has a drying effect over time and is mostly used on oily acne-prone skin to control sebum production.

I recently switched over to Cerave moisturizing cream and I’m glad I did. My dermatologist recommended Cetaphil a couple years ago. However, I noticed that cetaphil never quite absorbed. And recently, it seems to not absorb at all. It just sits on my face like a greasy film. The Cerave moisturizing cream actually absorbs and leaves a smooth finish. No bad reaction as of yet!

this is the 2nd video ive watched from u about skin care. im blown away of the amount of information you know about the ingredients and your enthusiasm when you talk about each product and your experience , it gets me excited. i stumbled upon ur videos because my son has been having issues with acne/pimples. he’ 17yo i tell him its puberty and don’t recommend any products yet. but he insist in getting something to help. found ur videos on skin care very helpful and informative

The CeraVe moisturizing cleanser has helped my skin more than any other cleaner ever. I have dry skin, and it was practically made for my skin. If you have oily skin definitely do not recommend though lol
