This example uses the basic Cessna style throttle but the principle applies to other throttle styles. Using your throttle hand (depends on which side you are sitting and the location of the throttle on your aircraft), first loosen the throttle friction nut, then adjust the throttle to the desired setting, and finally re-tighten the nut. This reduces the chance of damage to the friction nut and cable slide. In the video the operating hand is shown upside down for clarity. The point is to use your fingers to adjust the nut and your palm to adjust the throttle setting.
