Cervical Cancer: Osmosis Study Video

Special thanks to Osmosis for allowing us to share this video!
Cervical cancer is a cancer arising from the cervix caused abnormal growth of cells that have the ability to invade or spread to other parts of the body. The cancer is asymptomatic in early stages; later symptoms may include abnormal vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, or pain during sexual intercourse. While bleeding after sex may not be serious, it may also indicate the presence of cervical cancer. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection appears to be involved in the development of more than 90% of cases.
This video covers key aspects of cervical cancer and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, including the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and pathology.

👍The first identifiable symptoms of cervical cancer are likely to include: Abnormal vaginal bleeding, such as after intercourse, between menstrual periods, or after menopause; menstrual periods may be heavier and last longer than normal. Pain during intercourse. Vaginal discharge and odor. Pelvic pain.

I looked up the cervical cancer rate in thailand. It dropped from 23 per 100000 in 1990 to 11 in 100000 in 2021. In the report, vaccination was not mentioned once, and in another paper self reported vacc rate was 2%, so basically nonexistent. National Cervical Cancer Screening in Thailand, 2021. Basically the only difference is better socioeconomic conditions, that is to say better nutrition. Vitamin C status is the main determinant.
