+Matthew Santucci, how right you are. If only St. Vibiana's Cathedral was still used instead of Roger's Factory they call a Cathedral. 80,000 to repair the damaged old Cathedral or 200 million for a new one. Hey, lets build a factory!

In Los Angeles, the cathedral is referred to as the Taj Mahony.

I've never seen Roger the Dodger so at ease. And Gomez doesn't seem as rigid as I thought he might be.

+Connor Patrick: On June 28, 1904, Pope St. Pius X granted permission "to remove [St. Vibiana's Cathedral] in order to erect a larger church in a more suitable area of the town" (Weber, Msgr. Francis. Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, pp.22-23). In God's Providence, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles finally planned and built its new cathedral between 1995-2002 under the pastoral guidance of Cardinal Roger Mahony, Archbishop of Los Angeles, in collaboration with the cathedral advisory boards.

Sorry but this church is ugly af. I dont even know if I can pray at this church. Maybe even God is not pleased with that kind of design. Whoever is the architect of this church, he smashed the art!

Have you been to this cathedral in person? I have many times, and there are many pieces of art that are easily misunderstood or unknown to those who are ignorant, without proper understanding. Take a tour that is offered.

They will not let me believe in Jesus Christ because if I do someone does some extremely bad evil so why should any of them get to either?

jnuval Always remember the Catholic theology of the mass: It is the reenactment of unbloody sacrifice of Jesus Christ in calvary. Altars must be preceeded with 3 steps and a crucifix with 6 candles (or 7 if a bishop is presiding) be present not an altar dining table.

Cathedra = Bishop's chair. The church where the bishop's chair is located = Cathedral. Period.

I don't like this church. I was there today and I just don't like the design. It doesn't feel spiritual at all. It felt like I was in a museum

I recommend going for Easter Vigil, especially if you don't like the design. The liturgical experience may make you change your mind.

jnuval Okay, I'll check it out.. I purchased a really beautiful rosary at the gift shop. I'm in RICA so we had go there to meet the Bishop.

They should have given Roger Mahony a "transition" to San Quentin.

Dominic If Matthew was brainwashed by heretical schismatics means those you call "heretical schismatics" were wrong and have a different kind of thinking while observing the proper manner during mass. When did a liturgical abuse have become right when it commits a great sacriledge in the eyes of God? If those heretical schismatics were wrong then, so the apostles of Christ, the saints and many others were also wrong too? Think first before making an absurd accusation against those so called heretical schismatics.
