Let’s check out the Cerave cleanser balm that I've been using recently. Initially on first impressions, I didn't love it. But I do have thoughts.

The hard waxy texture is what threw me off. I'm more used to the soft buttery sorbet type of textured balms. It left some sort of waxy beads in my hands because it didn't melt down so easily.

The trick really is to use a spatula to scrape it or shave it off. It makes it come off much better and it melts down easily in my hands like my other balms. Although, this does not come with a spatula. Considering that I can't imagine enjoying using this without one, I feel like it should come with one maybe.

Once it is in that state to be properly used, I liked it. It was fine to me. Nice glide, nice emulsification, effectively does the job. I've had quite a few people complain about this to me, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt lol.

It is fragrance and essential oil free. I personally like a bit of fragrance in my first cleanse products for the experience factor. This just has like a chemically scent to me.

This thing is tiny. At this price per gram, it's probably closer to the mid range Sephora pricing than to the regular drug store pricing I'd expect.

All in all, too many shots against it. I am fine with it. But I don't think I’ll be recommending it to others most of the time. I probably wouldn't repurchase unless I'm going to Target and need a cleansing balm last minute with very few other options. Still love my CeraVe for the most part. Just this one is a bit of a miss.
