CERAMIDES IN SKINCARE - The Best Ceramide Moisturizer ( NOT CERAVE )

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How to use CERAMIDES in skincare , ceramide benefits and the best ceramide creams - CeraVe not included and some great CeraVe skin care dupes
Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin. You have been asking for a video on ceramides for so long so I am delighted to be finally able to share with you my thoughts on ceramides in skincare, the best ceramide creams and of course some CeraVe dupes.
Ceramides are core components of our skin structure and are actually lipids (fats) which our body naturally produces. Over time the amount of cermaides in our skin and the quality of them decreases and so ceramide creams can be a great for anti ageing.
In this video I share with you the best ceramide moisturizer on the market and how to incorporate ceramides into your skin care routine. There is something for every skin type and budget and unlike CeraVe all the products mentioned are cruelty free making them great Cerave dupes.
I would love to know your thoughts on ceramides and any of the products mentioned, what is your go to ceramide product? Leave me a comment below.
If you enjoyed this video then please give it a thumbs up to support the channel and let me know.

OK, I'm now going to tell you all my secret😂😂 I've been using the Cerave Baby Lotion as my last step in my night time routine for 3 years now and I'll never be without it. It is fantastic for sensitive skin because it doesn't have the harsh ingredients the "clean" beauty community fuss about. I actually read an article by a scientist who compared the regular Cerave lotion to the baby lotion, and the baby lotion WON as best! I often mix it with The Ordinary's NMF to get the urea my skin needs. On really dry skin days I'll throw in the Elf Holy Hydration Face Cream that has peptides for a SUPER packed moisturizer! I know I"m a bit extra, but my skin says, "Thank You!"❤️

Haha Patti if your feeling extra then I always think your doing the right thing and thank you so much for sharing... I actually looked at the ingredients of the cerave baby as you know I think the normal Cerave is nothing special and dont get all the fuss and the baby is SO SO SO much better.. I never realised they were so different but like you say there are so many better ingredients in the baby vs the normal one which makes sense why it would be working so well for you.. sending you so much love xxxxx

I’m someone with extremely sensitive skin (as I am sure many of the viewers are to some extent), which can get easily irritated with even fruit oils and defiantly with fragrances. Ceramides have been my skin savior. I currently have Purito unscented centella serum, The Inky List ceramide night treatment, Ceramedx face lotion and My Topicals Like Butter mask circulating in my routine at the moment. I also just found an overnight scalp moisturizer with ceramides from Grow Gorgeous. Side note: The ad before this video for me was from CeraVe which gave me a little chuckle.

Hi Rob as someone with eczema ceramides are something I try to incorporate daily. My current face, neck and chest ceramide treatment is the simply pure day serum from Superdrug - super cheap and easy to use as a layer before my moisturiser (may work as a moisturiser for oilier skin though). I also like the skincity moisture toner/essence - a thicker milky toner I like to layer for extra hydration. Many of the moisturisers I use have ceramides, but these are easy to incorporate when the moisturiser I'm using doesn't. I also try to make sure my body cream contains them - currently the Boots own atopic skin care line in the pharmacy section where you get a large tub (around 500mls) for approx £9. Eczema prone skin has been shown in studies to lack enough natural ceramides, plus as I'm post menopausal I have the natural reduction aging causes. Cereve stings my skin for some reason, but there are many many alternatives - many of which are just as affordable. Best wishes. ps the new Superdrug me+ hyaluronic acid cleanser contains ceramides too.

For people asking, if you want to minimize your skincare routine, yeah the Ceramedx does the job. If you want something richer with more emollients, get the tub. If you want something lighter and more gel cream lotion like, then get the pump bottle. I did deal with some pilling from the silicones in the pump body lotion. Whereas with the tub lotion, I would accidentally over apply and get acne sometimes. They're fragrance free and essential oil free. If I remember correctly, neither of them have more than 1 type of ceramide in them. In the long run, I intend to find a moisturizer with some decent ingredients that works well for my skin type and add the Liquid Gold in as a ceramide booster.

I received a sample of Biotherm Cera Repair with a Sephora mail order and fell in love with it. The sample lasted for about five uses, and I used it to seal in my nighttime skincare. It is just right, a little lighter on the skin than CeraVe (their original Moisturising Cream). The only thing that is not so good is that I’m not sure if Biotherm is cruelty free 😿 That matters to me. I know that Holika Holika has a Good Cera line that I’m interested in and I will purchase some Good Cera products with my next Beauty Bay order! I’ve heard a lot of good things about Good Cera - actually, I’ve only heard good things about them 😺 I love ceramides, especially after I’ve done my weekly (The Ordinary’s) AHA+BHA peeling. Ceramides - together with lactic acid, niacinamide and allantoin - is what I reckon as safe to recommend to anyone, even to sensitive skin.

He is always open to have a discussion about issues, without judgement. This puts him in a very small minority of KZread influencers! And, in this video he is offering CF substitutions. 😊

@@julia-ex7im my skin is smoother in texture and tone a bit, but idk if it’s that or the retinol I’ve been using. It definitely reduces the retinol irritation though. I do recommend having another moisturizer over it though if you live in a dry climate- it has sodium hylaurinate in it (may have spelled that wrong) which is touted as moisturizing but I find drying when it’s in dry weather, cause it pulls moisture from your skin if it can’t pull it from the air. It’s pretty affordable though! $12-16 for a month-two month supply

Usually love your videos and information. I know that you are not keen on CeraVe products, however, I also follow Dr Vanita Ratten. She is not only a doctor, but a cosmetic formulator for people of skin of colour. But, she breaks down all the ingredients in various brands and their percentages. She is definitely one to also listen to, but she does rate certain CeraVe brands as good products. Like you said, some products do work better than others for some people.

Anytime I see “CeraVe in the tub” I want to scream! I seriously hate CeraVe of any kind that I’ve tried. I’m a LRP or Cetaphil gal but just went down a rabbit hole and then searched Liquid Gold and here it is! I’m really struggling with this weird breakout or bumps on my face and then it flares up when it rains. Then I itch and burn for a couple days after the rain. I go to derm tomorrow since it’s flared up at the moment. But I did just buy Stratia starter kit. I’m starting to think my barrier is trashed and I need repair. The La Roche Posay has a barrier repair line too but it’s kinda $$$. Whatever these bumps are, they never actually go away. Just get less noticeable and less irritated. Ugh.

I agree it's vegan, cruelty free, affordable and comes in a huge size but for some reason I did not TOTALLY fall in love with this mositurizer. It definitely helped me a LOT after I had irritation & dryness from my neck acne treatments (Epiduo) but I had to go in with my main mositurizers. It didn't work on it's own for me, it was almost too light weight, funny because it comes as a thick balm! I have combo skin and it wasn't enough for my dry cheeks & neck.
