    and provide a iron grill suface base at plane of cooking so that utensil can be easly shifted to it is very good for domestic use oncr you now the timing of cooked otems and systemize it. for ecsample of cooc rice and know how much time it yakes to boil you can off the power in the middle time and your rice will be cooking once and for all nust use the half time of cooking in gas stove.

    I have a ceramic stove and i like that it stays hot after i turned it off because it keeps the food hot while i keep the pot on the stove for the next person who wants seconds. 😊 Also you forgot to mention that u can use most flat bottom cookware on ceramic stoves i.e. glassware. You cant do that with induction.

    Is there any installation or is it something you can just put on top of any surface? Literally know nothing about this. Just owning it and asking.

    The problem I find with these flat type ceramic is that they do not have raised edges to prevent small spillage during boiling liquids

    When you do have raised frame over the hob, it becomes impossible to use larger pots on it as the pot goes over that frame and no longer touches the hob. So there is that as well to consider when deciding frameless or frame.

    @@ivantausan5798 Hi, There are metal cook tops with raised smooth edges just enough to hold accidental or small spillage but the ceramic cool top is all flat and you have to keep a towel handy just in case.

    I wouldn't say it is good for basic stuff. It is good for everything! I have been cooking on it for years, quite a lot is recent time. Thermal inertia is annoying, though, so don't overheat or turn off heat a minute or two earlier.

    You must be confusing it with induction. Ceramic resistive electric cooktop IS NOT more precise than gas or induction.

  • @pavel9652

    The issue is residual heat is wasted. Induction creates less heat. Also, if you overheat and have to remove pot, the leftover heat is also wasted. Just like explained in the video, you have to learn to switch off heat earlier, then it isn't a big deal. Might be better for cooking rice or potatoes, because you can leave pot on hot plate to finish cooking.

    Why would anybody buy this over an induction cook top? No, it's not because of price! In Europe the probably cheapest (or one of the cheapest as I haven't seen any cheaper) cook top in standard size format you can get is from IKEA. Guess what - it's induction! They have ceramic too but it's slightly more expensive. My guess is the reason why some people prefer ceramic is that they can use their old cookware that is not compatible with induction. But really - they would be much better of just buying something new in IKEA while they're there. Stainless with induction compatible bottom doesn't cost a fortune anymore and you really shouldn't cook with your old raw aluminium cookware!! Aluminium over time increases risk of alzheimers as aluminium messes with your nerve system - using modern anodized aluminium is fine however as it doesn't release aluminium to the food. Then there's superstition and anxiety over "new" technology (even though it's more than two decades old - probably even three) or a combination of all of the above. So I don't understand why people would buy ceramic today. Then there's the hazard of the cat turning it on - an induction won't cause any danger unless large metal objects is on the top. Sure if you have a functional ceramic sure use it still but don't replace it with the same if it goes. Induction is much easier to clean and faster too. So IMHO it's either induction, gas or for very specific reasons portable old fashioned cast iron cook top. While you can get portable induction cook tops they're all noisy first of all because of the build in fan to keep electronics cool. So great if you need one for making food but not great for casual cooking at the dinner table (epleskiver is perfect christmas hygge) or keeping something varm - the old fashioned cast iron burner is much better suited for that since it justs gives subtle clicks and otherwise silent.

    Induction heating surfaces are very limiting, you can't boil water in a glass pitcher or make coffee in a moka-pot or turkish coffee pot. You're limited to magnetic cookware and that doesn't cover everything.

  • @HifiCentret

    @HifiCentret

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@AWHel You can say that. I must admit that I've not encountered anyone cooking in something that has not been compatible with induction unless it has been vintage aluminium or very cheap non stick pans - which in both cases for your own health should replace with decent modern variants. Probably also dependent on culture. But if only rarely using non induction compatible cookware a portable cook top is probably acceptable. All in all for my (and those I knows) use the benefit of induction far outweight it's limitations. And hey I do have a portable cooktop (hot plate but they also exists in ceramic versions) as it's nice to have to keep food varm at table or to make waffles on demand at table etc. The reason for not chosing an induction here is because it's noisy. But for the stationary cooktop in the kitchen it doesn't matter as those fans are a little out of that way and thus muffled and in addition to ventilation in kitchen it doesn't matter - but at the table it does.

    it needs to cool because it's electric, it's not the gas hob you turn off the heating immediately. Your review doesn't make sense if you compare the electric hob to the gas hob. it's laughable.

    How it is laughable? I have old gas stove for years. But if I wanted to buy new stove, I have a choice gas vs electric and it is good to read pros and cons for each type. Not beeing able to reduce the heat imediately for ceramic type stove some may find as a considerable con. With gas you just turn it off and no more heat is generated. With induction the same I guess. So how it is laughable? He is making a good point some may overlook and find out only after buying a stove.

    Induction doesn't need to cool, and is electric, therefore your arguments ceramic needs to cool because is electric is flawed, and laughable.
