there has been many comments about lu jin in this clip, many have said that lu jin was being rude for not looking at grandpa as he was talking but i believe what was being portrayed is fear of rejection. Lu jin defied his mother, rejected Li man argued with chang ziqian but at the end of the day if grandpa did not approve lu jin and sheng nan cannot be together happily. I feel the male lead did a good job at acting his fear of rejection then relief when grandpa finally gave his blessing.

To me Lu jin showed respect, humility, responsibility, then permit me to add culture. Lu Jin has been a gentlemen , as in some culture, you don't talk back when an elder is talking nor look into there face until you are allowed to. From eating uncooked mushrooms soup,( poison) , given washing up liquid soap , being slapped ,( bubbles ) hit with a bottle, etc , etc not to mentioned his car covered with flour , and his body. Despite all these challenges, Lu never lifted his hands, nor screamed, made a fuss , but asked for compensation of ( Love ) but for Nana to cook instead. A true gentlemen, Lu is cute, sweet , amazing man, with few words. That is why grandad was amused, had compaction, he liked Lu. Accepted Him. 👍 . 🤣

Lu Jin's humble disposition towards Shengnan's grandpa is a gesture of respect and sincere care for Shengnan...no proof is needed to confirm this. What was needed is not just money because it is obvious he can afford that. But what he did is not something to be overlooked from the perspective of an elder. The very wise grandpa did not coat his statements as well. When people are more honest, it is easier to deal with their issues.
